Inspired by Kobe, will Russell Wilson finally silence his critics this season?

Kobe Bryant left the NBA with 5 championships. Is Russell Wilson planning to do the same? His recent Instagram post is indicative of the fact that Wilson is headed for bigger things and a Super Bowl championship might be one of them. Russ and Kobe were family friends, but he seeks inspiration from him to this day.

The former Super Bowl champion is hard at work at the Steelers training facility, and we got a glimpse of it on his social media. The carousel shows Wilson looking athletic like never before and it looks like he’s got rid of a lot of his weight. Are we going to witness a new Russell Wilson this season?

The IG post titled, ” “Dedication makes dreams come true.” -Kobe Bryant,” shows him all geared up in a Steelers kit ready for the action. Russ is doing the classic QB pose in the first picture. By the looks of it, he seems ready to sling the ball far and wide this time. That too, quickly. Russ has been slow on some occasions, so maybe he’s got around to fixing that.

But coming back to Russ and Kobe for a second, the second photo shows Russell Wilson wearing a pendent with the quote from Kobe Bryant “Dedication makes dreams come true.” Not often does he flaunt that pendant, so there’s no doubt that he’s giving his heart and soul to the team that gave him a chance to stay in the NFL.

Wilson will carry the weight of a lot of other things besides his quarterbacking this year. That’s because he has a helmet with a green dot that will allow him to communicate with people on the sidelines. Seems like Mike Tomlin really believes in him!

What’s your perspective on:

Inspired by Kobe, will Russell Wilson finally silence his critics this season?

Have an interesting take?

While running around and throwing the ball might be a standard protocol for Wilson in the off-season, he’s trying a few other things to make the Steelers as offense-oriented as they are with the defense. To get that done, Wilson has just the right person in mind.

What Russell Wilson is really bringing to the table

The Steelers QB is working overtime to try and bring in DK Metcalf to the Steelers! That’s right! The unstoppable receiver that strikes fear in the eyes of defenders might come to the Steelers in the distant future. Very recently, Russ was spotted working out with DK Metcalf and two Steelers receivers Quez Watkins and Scotty Miller.

However, it’s important to know that Metcalf’s 3-year $72 million contract runs through the 2025 season, so it might be hard for Russell to get a hold of Metcalf before his in the Seahawks ends. Apart from George Pickens, there isn’t anyone in the Steelers wideout roster that does heavy lifting.

Reportedly, the Steelers have been inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk and Courtland Sutton, and in April, they showed interest in Metcalf. So, it’s safe to say that Russell Wilson and the Steelers are on the same page about DK Metcalf. The Broncos insider Benjamin Allbright hinted at the rumor going around in the NFL streets just a few months ago. He also pointed out that the Steelers have rebuffed their talks with respect to Brandon Aiyuk and Courtland Sutton.

It would be a huge boost to the Steelers offense if they end up getting DK Metcalf into their roster. The Seattle receiver is tall, sturdy, and hard to take down. So here Russell Wilson is, channeling his inner Kobe Bryant and leaving no stone unturned so that the Steelers can become a Lombardi-worthy team within his time in Steel City.
