Though the 2023 season was an overall improvement for the Miami Dolphins, their leading receiver was disappointed. Tyreek Hill had set a personal goal for himself before last season to achieve a feat never done before and that was 2000 yards in a single season. While the Cheetah seemed to be on the right track midway last year, an unfortunate injury rained all over his plans.
Hill was following the roadmap to his objective ardently when an ankle injury halted his progress, forcing him to end the season just a couple hundred yards short. But with the dawn of a new season, the wide receiver is fully pumped. Recently, Hill posted an Instagram story reminding everyone that his goal is very much alive.

The highest-paid receiver of last season publicly announced his brave intentions in June last year. Eight running backs have pulled off 2000 yards in a season, but the accomplishment still remains a far-off dream for receivers. Calvin Johnson came closest to the milestone, with 1964 receiving yards in 2012 for the Detroit Lions. In his podcast, Hill revealed his bucket list.
The Miami Dolphins’ WR is determined not to let his previous season’s blues hold him back. Hill recently shared an Instagram story of a photo of him in the gym with the caption, “2k loading,” with some dizzy eyes emojis. The WR’s message was crystal clear. He plans to leave no stone unturned in achieving the iconic 2000 yards.
Despite failing to fulfill his dream, Hill was the leading receiver in receiving yards last season with 1799 yards. He further had 119 receptions, a 15.1 average, and his career high of 13 touchdowns. So, with almost 200 yards short of his promise, what will it take for Hill to achieve the feat in the upcoming season?

How does Hill’s 2000-yard promise look in 2024?
“I will break 2,000 yards next year, bro,” Hill said, as per Miami Herald. “2,000 yards was on my bucket list to get before I leave this league … 2,000 yards and another Super Bowl; we getting that. Believe that.”
Hill has already won a Super Bowl during his time with the Chiefs in 2019. So, this just leaves the 2000-yard promise to be achieved. The WR had revealed consistency to be the key to success and shared that he “fell off” towards the end of last season. The Cheetah would have to follow his fitness plan religiously and hope that no unfortunate injuries block his way.

Hill became the highest-paid WR when he was traded to the Dolphins, and he has proved his worth in steel. Ahead of the 2024 season, Miami gears up for a run to the Super Bowl and their leading wide receiver to achieve his magnum opus. If the previous season is anything to go by, the WR can possibly achieve his goal as long as he can avoid injuries.
