Does Tyreek Hill's diss track make him a hero or a troublemaker in your eyes?

Before the Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill could make his way to the Hard Rock Stadium, he was pulled over by the police, citing traffic violation. Although it could have been a regular check by the police, the Miami PD ended up using heavy force on Cheetah. Viral videos posted on the internet showed Hill getting handcuffed face down on the ground against his sports car.

Even though the 30-year-old was released briefly after the incident, Hill came up with a response of his own. Taking to his X, Tyreek teased us with a possible diss track, “Bossman got to come out with some new lyrics now.” Well, this was not the only reply Hill gave in reference to the incident.

On Sunday vs the Jaguars, Hill scored a thunderous 80-yard touchdown that led to him celebrating with arms behind his back, referencing handcuffs. Soon after Hill got detained, Dolphins released a statement: “This morning, Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released. Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support.”

Looking back, it wasn’t just a regular traffic pullover as the Miami PD used “excessive force,” as called by Dolphins safety Jevon Holland, “That’s got to get handled. Excessive force on a Black man that’s not uncommon. It’s a very common thing in America. That needs to be addressed on a country-wide level.” Even Hill’s agent, who was sitting beside him in the car, called the incident a “heartbreaking situation” that was unnecessary.

Later on, the Miami-Dade Police Department reviewed the incident while sending one of the officers involved on administrative duties. After getting an update from the Miami PD, Hill said, “That should tell you everything you need to know. I wasn’t disrespectful because my mom didn’t raise me that way. Didn’t cuss. Didn’t do none of that. Like I said. I’m still trying to figure it out, man.” But the Dolphins WR didn’t let this scuffle with the police impact his performance against the Jaguars. As the star receiver was in optimal form starting the regular season.

Have an interesting take?

For most of the game on Sunday, the Dolphins looked out of sync while the Jaguars had a 24-7 lead in the third quarter. But 13 unanswered points during the second half led Miami to a 20-17 victory courtesy of Tyreek Hill. At the start of this comeback, Tua found Hill within 28 yards from where Cheetah drove for an 80-yard TD. Although that made the scoreline 17-14, there was more to come from the Dolphins.
