Here we go again—the stage is set for the Chiefs and Bills rematch. This time, the stakes are higher than it ever was in the last few seasons. On one hand, the Chiefs are aiming for a 3-peat that’s never been achieved before. And for the Bills, they are on the hunt for vengeance against a side that has beaten them in their last 3 face-offs in the playoffs. So, don’t you think they should be nervous about their possible kryptonite in the postseason? Well, to break it down for you. Josh Allen and his boys have never been so confident before facing the Chiefs.

Allen, in his post-game pressers, expressed how he couldn’t be more thrilled to face the Chiefs. “We’re excited. There’s a lot of pride in that locker room. We don’t listen to the outside noise. Everyone was saying this and that about us. Our guys continue to work hard. We are internally driven.” This will be Allen’s second AFC title conference game in his NFL career. And the last time, he took the Bills one game away from making the Super Bowl. They met the Chiefs in 2020 and ended up losing 26-17.

Well, the Bills have been historically poor whenever there’s a Super Bowl on the line. Their last four appearances came in consecutive seasons from 1990 to 1993. And guess what? They lost all of them. Since those heartbreaks, the Bills have not returned to the grandest stage to date. But this season could bear a different outcome for Buffalo. That one loss the Chiefs suffered this season came in the hands of Josh Allen’s Bills.

The Chiefs were on a 15-game winning prior to facing the Bills in week 11. However, by beating them 30-21, the Bills showed that they weren’t immune to losses after all. And you know what makes this clash more enthralling to watch? Allen and Mahomes supposedly knew they were going to face each other again this season. Going back to their post-game embrace in Buffalo, Allen was caught whispering to Mahomes ears, “We’ll see you guys soon.” As Mahomes responded, “We’ll do it again, baby.” So, there you go—two generational QBs have been granted their wish for a rematch. Which team comes out on top is hard to predict for now.

However, no matter what’s going to be the result of their AFC conference title game. Allen didn’t let go of Sunday’s win over Baltimore to go after the haters.

On a snowy night in Buffalo, Josh Allen and his Bills came out on top against the Ravens. While some of them may have questioned Bills credibility to win Sunday’s game, Allen did what he could to silence the critics. See, Allen may not have delivered an MVP-esque performance at center. But his steady hand yet again proved to be the difference-maker against Baltimore, who turned the football over 3 times. Allen completed 16 of his 22 passes for only 127 yards. He didn’t throw a single passing TD but did score two rushing TDs in the first half.

So, despite the lack of red zone scores. The Bills held on to win 27-25 as Allen went off against the Bills haters post-game, “All year, this team has heard we got no talent. We’re too small, we can’t stop the run. We’re not good enough to compete. We just put our head down and worked hard.” He then went on to praise all three departments of his team that contributed to a collective win, “I’m so proud of our defense. I’m so proud of our offense and special teams. What a complete win.”

See, the Bills’ defense stepped up when it mattered the most. Baltimore’s offense had just 11 turnovers before taking on the Bills. However, with an AFC title game on the line, the Bills’ defense forced 3 takeaways. And those turnovers eventually contributed to the Ravens’ 2-point loss. Even Tyler Bass scored both of his field goals, which kept the Bills’ score moving. If not for those two field goals, Baltimore’s last TD could have proved to be decisive.

So, yes, each one of the Bills players contributed in some way or another in their victory march to the AFC conference title. But whether they can keep that streak going against the reigning Super Bowl Champions is a different question altogether.
