Did Micah Parsons just prove he's the best defensive player in the league against the Rams?

Ever seen a play where a sack and a touchdown happen in the blink of an eye? Matthew Stafford just gave us the lowdown. The Los Angeles Rams’ QB spilled the tea on what it was like going head-to-head with the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive menace, Micah Parsons—and let’s just say, it wasn’t a walk in the park.

In a recent tweet dropped by NFL reporter and About Them Cowboys host Jon Machota, Stafford gave Big D’s DE/LB the ultimate compliment: he’s a mad scientist on-field. “They’ve got some good players on the other side too and 90’s still rushing like he knows how to,” he said, tipping his hat to Parsons. “He’s a talented player, right? He played from 2-point off the ball 2-point on the ball, 3-point. Uh, you know, it’s not unlike some of the stuff I’ve seen them do in the past with him. He’s a chess piece for sure that they can move around and he can make plays from all of those spots.”

That’s high praise from a seasoned veteran like Stafford. But don’t think the Rams were sitting ducks. In their latest joint practice with the Cowboys, Parsons put on a defensive show, sacking the Rams’ QB. But here’s the twist: Stafford didn’t flinch under the pressure. Moments later, he fired a laser for a touchdown, showcasing his own high-caliber skills.

It looks like these teams cranked up the intensity without any cheap shots. Stafford even gave a nod to the Cowboys for keeping it clean—talk about a rare gem in the NFL! With both teams gunning for a playoff run, this early clash might just be a sneak peek at what’s to come—especially after the Rams’ blowout loss to the Cowboys last season.

Stafford’s Rams hit rock bottom after blowout loss to Dallas

When it rains, it pours—and the Rams got drenched last season. After a brutal 43-20 beatdown by the Cowboys, Matthew Stafford’s thumb injury just added to the storm.

Did Micah Parsons just prove he's the best defensive player in the league against the Rams?

Have an interesting take?

Georgia Bulldogs’ champ, who was playing through a nagging hip injury from Week 4, saw his day go from bad to worse. Midway through the game, a collision during a two-point conversion attempt left his right thumb in bad shape, leading to a blowout loss to Dallas. Even though Stafford rallied with a scoring drive after halftime, his injury flared up big time when he took a nasty fall. He was quickly ruled out, and backup Brett Rypien stepped in.

The injury was pretty serious. Stafford returned to the sideline with his right hand taped up and needed help to even zip his travel bag—never a good sign. With Stafford potentially sidelined, the Rams’ playoff hopes went completely bleak.

If the Rams’ QB doesn’t step up this season, they might be reliving last year’s Super Bowl hangover. Fingers crossed, they turn it around!
