The game between the Chicago Bears and the Vikings has just ended. And the Josh Dobbs-led team has suffered back-to-back defeats now. It is Dobbs’ 4th game with the squad and so far he has only managed to put sub-par numbers on the board. Astonishingly so, the new QB of the Vikings has only been able to complete less than 70% of his passes in any of the last three games.
Thus, it isn’t far-fetched to say that Kirk Cousins’ replacement has not been able to fetch favorable results. The latest defeat against the Bears has put Kevin O’Connell’s choice to let Dobbs take charge under scrutiny. It has even raised an expected question, whether Josh Dobbs’ moment of bliss has turned sour.

As said, it’s been 3 games and we’re yet to see something exceptional from the Vikings now QB1. In the clash against the Bears, he has completed only 22 out of his 32 passes and been intercepted four times in this game. He passed for just 185 yards till now and completed only 68.8% of his passes. Again, just above average numbers from the veteran QB. With spending over a month with the squad, questions concerning his blissed period have been raised.
The Vikings lost to the Bears with a final score of 10-12. While the QB Dobbs has 1 TD to his name, the team’s subpar performance has surrounded the decision of acquiring Dobbs from the Arizona Cardinals. The game against the Bears looked to be slipping away after three-quarters of the game when finally the Vikings were able to strike back.
Alas! That was not enough to secure a win for the team placed second in the NFC North. Additionally, Justin Jefferson was also missing from the game and this probably hampered the performance of the Vikings too. Zipping back to the crucial role of Dobbs in the squad, it is interesting to note that he hasn’t thrown this many interceptions since his collegiate career.
Also, the added responsibility on the shoulders of Dobbs for replacing in-form Cousins has been a topic of scrutiny. The last time when the Vikings and Bears locked horns with each other, the former was able to outplay the opponent. During that clash, the Vikings clinched a 13-19 victory as Kirk Cousins proved his dominance on the field.
Nonetheless, the recent game was no less than a nightmare for the Vikings. Not only did they lose to the fourth-placed team in NFC North but despite failing to make a TD, the Bears overshadowed the Vikings. And the credit for the same goes to the Bears QB Justin Fields.

Looking at his game, it isn’t hard to say that Justin Fields is focusing on getting better each day. Despite the underwhelming stats of the Bears, Fields has managed to cultivate his points on the board. In the match against Vikings, he completed 73.0% of his passes and has passed for 217 yards. Not only that he made 27 out of his 37 passes, which helped the Bears gain that advantage.
The last moments of the game were no less than a suspense. As Dobbs made a TD and Vikings went 1 up the Bears, it was a matter of ball possession for the latter. However, the Bears were determined to shift the game in their favor and they rightfully did so. Now, the Fields-led team is 4-8 on the leaderboard.
The Bears have scored 3 points in second and third quarters and 6 points in the last quarter. Consequently, it has turned into a rough night for Vikings offense, especially Dobbs, who took 4 interceptions and was sacked twice as compared to Fields, who was sacked thrice. But, the sacks are the only thing that redeem Joshua Dobbs from a disappointing performance.
