Just when everyone thought things were going all right for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, the walls came trickling down on the Kansas City team. The Monday Night game was the perfect set-up with the Chiefs expecting the rainy weather, and the crowd loudly cheering for the home team. But things went awry quickly after the team made two grave mistakes that ended up costing them the game.

Mahomes and his squad seem evidently disappointed. Post the match, the QB hopped on the opportunity to bring out the concerns they can tackle in the upcoming games before the much-awaited playoffs start. Mahomes addressed the presser and gave insights into the required changes.

The Chiefs QB1 was asked about how the Kansas City Chiefs are going to resolve the concerns they face regarding scoring in the second half. For Mahomes, it only boils down to two things, going back to the basics alongside re-visiting the fundamentals, and focusing on making steady progress rather than trying to make huge leaps and expecting results right from the get-go.

The straightforward response from the Quarterback was, “All you can do is go back to your fundamentals, uh, obviously we had some opportunities in the second half of this last game, but uh, we didn’t execute, and so we have to go back to our fundamentals, try to do those and hopefully with steady progress and steady work we start putting points on the board.”

During the game, the Chiefs were rather sub-par while making the passes. Moments like the last-quarter drop by Marquez Valdes-Scantling and the fumble from Travis Kelce proved to be extra costly for the team. To add to that, Mahomes came out with a 55.8% pass completion rate, hardly making matters better for them.

Per Mahomes, there were “a couple of miscues here and there.” While the football player remains motivated to get better as the season progresses further, for him, it’s about the standards that he wants the Chiefs to adhere to that remain the priority. Unfortunately, this game came with a lot of botches, and even the loss of a potential game-winning touchdown.

Mahomes was dumbfounded when the wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling dropped a game-winning touchdown catch on his throw in the last quarter of the game. The amount of slander MVS is facing right now is unparalleled to none. While the QB commented on making sure to not make such errors, he was also quick to back his side and teammate in coming back stronger next time.

However, it seems like the Eagles’ efforts were undermined because of the Chiefs’ blemishes. The truth is, the Eagles did a phenomenal job of keeping the Chiefs at bay. Jalen Hurts and the team executed a successful tush push, and the Eagles stopped the Chiefs from getting even a single point in the second half of the game. The Eagles are now 9-1 and remain the number one team in the NFC East.
