QB Jayden Daniels finds a new fan! Before the 2024 NFL draft, a few teams who were in search of a new QB were eyeing Caleb Williams. After Williams, Jayden Daniels was considered as a second top prospect for this year’s draft.

However, now that the Chicago Bears have acquired former USC Trojans’ quarterback, and Daniels landed up with the Commanders, the debate has started on who is the better QB between them. The three-time All-Pro CB Patrick Peterson is the latest to dig into the discussion.

In a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show steamed some hours ago, Eisen was joined by the veteran cornerback Peterson wherein he discussed his NFL future, as after 13 years he is becoming a free agent this summer. The 33-year-old also revealed Daniels’ charity efforts before pointing out his football prowess. The LSU alum informed that he didn’t contact Jayden Daniels last year, but they met when Daniels was at Arizona State. Peterson’s social media marketer, Alex Guerrero, helped with “small stuff for him, for his community, for his charity, helping him and his mom out throughout the community.

Additionally, he admired Daniels’ career at LSU, his improvement, and his second overall pick for the Commanders. Peterson expressed, “We crossed paths a couple of times, so that was the only time that I really had the opportunity to really sit down and speak with Jayden…..At LSU, (he) was just unbelievable…..it was just remarkable to see the steps that and the strides that he was able to make to solidify himself as a Heisman trophy winner and this second overall pick for the Washington Commanders.”

Praising his skills for this year’s draft, Peterson further added, “I thought he was the best quarterback as far as overall skill set, pocket presence, going through the process of reading the routes, I just thought he was the best all-around quarterback in this 2024 draft.”

Besides Peterson, there were many who named Daniels a better prospect than Williams ahead of the April Draft segment.

Jayden Daniels loves football more than Caleb Williams?

According to journalist Tom Pelissero’s report, ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, an AFC scout believed LSU’s Jayden Daniels should be the top pick in the draft, even though Caleb Williams was expected to go first to the Bears. That was because the scout believed Daniels was “a better athlete and loves football more than Williams.” However, there’s no such report that mentions Williams doesn’t love football. As per Bleacher Report, “He began working with coaches at the age of 10 to help mold him into reaching his full potential as a quarterback.”

Additionally, ESPN’s Adam Schefter talked to some coaches, and they too voted for Daniels as the “best guy in this draft.” Daniels had an impressive 2023 season with LSU, throwing for lots of yards and touchdowns (3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns) while also being a threat on the ground. Williams, on the other hand, had an equally good season with USC (3,633 yards, 30 touchdowns).
