The Denver Broncos came out of the Emperor Field with flying colors after beating the Kansas City Chiefs in a competitive battle. It was QB Russell Wilson who was soon taken into account for the unanticipated victory. From getting berated by Stephen A. Smith to beating the No. 1 team in the AFC West, the Broncos have come a long way, led by Wilson.
Amidst the celebrations of the win, the Broncos released an interview with the HC Sean Payton, revealing what went into preparing for the battle against the strongest team in red. From Trade talks to commending Wilson, the coach seemed in full mood to praise his side for the staggering performance displayed against a quality team.

In a recent interview, Sean Payton was asked about Russell Wilson’s performance in Sunday’s game as compared to the overall season. Payton didn’t hesitate to give his two cents about the game and Wilson’s performance. Per the HC, the success has a lot to do with Wilson’s astute skills and his willingness to move down the enemy lines.
In a direct answer, the former QB commented, “A lot of it has to be with play designs and what we’re trying to accomplish, and Russ has been smart relative to those decisions.” The coach highlighted how the focus should be on knowing what plays to put forth, as some of them are going to get the QB sacked, while the others leave the QB in safety.
Keeping this in mind, according to Sean Payton, Wilson needs to be on his toes and remain vigilant at all times in the future as well. And so far, he has been successful in doing that. According to the 59-year-old, it all boils down to what the team is trying to achieve for a certain play. And to judge those situations, per Payton, Wilson is more than qualified.
Though, amidst all the praises for the Broncos team and the QB, the focus does shift toward the Chiefs having faced a probably unfair scenario, with multiple factors facing against them.

There were a lot of things that needed to be considered before the Chiefs could play the Broncos. Firstly, the Denver weather might have come as a challenge to the Chiefs side. Secondly, Patrick Mahomes had been sick throughout the game, but still played, putting up above-average numbers in the game. With a completion rate of 63.2%, Mahomes made 24 out of his 38 passes.
He was not able to score a single touchdown and was sacked 3 times throughout the game and came out with 2 interceptions. Due to his illness, he might not have been at his peak performance, proving to be costly in the end for the Kansas City team. Fortunately for Wilson, he took advantage of the situation and took the lead for his side from the very beginning.
