Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is in the spotlight once again! But, it is not for his NFL stints. His venture into acting is turning out to be equally successful, as he is all set to make his official theatrical debut. With his quirky role in the sports-comedy movie Happy Gilmore 2, the Hollywood heavyweight, Adam Sandler is showering him with unending praises.

One of the fan accounts took to its X handle, posting a video of Sandler, as he shares his views on Kelce in ‘Happy Gilmore 2′. He remarks, “A 12. Funny as hell. Funny as hell. No kidding. Unbelievable.” Sandler admired his performance extensively, as evident from the clip.

When Sandler appeared on the New Heights podcast, he discussed the capacity of Kelce’s involvement in Happy Gilmore 2. “We were talking about you playing my son while we were writing it, literally, like six months ago. We were like, imagine if Travis was my first baby, how funny that would be. Just a bada–,” as stated in The Star’s article from August 2024. But, eventually, the team decided on a cameo role.

However, Sandler had assured that his role would befit his personality, adding, “Travis, we’re gonna have fun, because the scene you’re doing is with so many great golfers. It’s gonna be amazing. You’re gonna be funny as hell.” And, indeed, in the recent X video, Sandler confirmed that Kelce was funny as hell. Back then, as Kelce was super excited about his role, he even took to practice the famous Happy Gilmore swing in celebration. He described working on Happy Gilmore 2 as a “dream come true.”

Director Dennis Dugan praises Kelce’s acting

Kelce is expanding his TV venture as an actor, host, and even an executive producer quite vividly. He made his debut previously with Ryan Murphy’s FX series Grotesquerie. Not only this, he hosts “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” on Prime Video. Taking his talents further, he also serves as an executive producer for My Dead Friend Zoe, which is an indie movie with a high-profile cast.
