Did you notice that not a single player from the 2020 NFL Draft class is present in the Washington Commanders? Over the years, the Commanders have had their fair share of struggles in the NFL Draft. While some football fans and NFL pundits are fuming over them for bringing in 22 prospects in the building simultaneously, others see a silver lining to it. Adam Peters changed the landscape for the San Francisco 49ers, and now he’s working with Dan Quinn to build an absolute game-changing roster for the Washington side.
The Commanders just uploaded a podcast with Santana Moss, Logan Paulsen, and Fred Smoot, where the trio talked about all the future possibilities that the Commanders have in store. Turns out Quinn and Peters are doing one heck of a job preparing the team for the next season.
Paulsen asked Santana and Moss “something good” about Adam Peters and Dan Quinn working towards the upcoming draft and their off-season process. After the Commanders received criticism for their bold 30 visits, they got praises from Fred Smoot and Santana Moss for their maverick efforts.

Comparing Peters and Quinn to Outkast, the hip-hop duo, Smoot said, “Adam Peters, and Dan Quinn, they the outkast group of the NFL right now. The best duo ever to do it. I like people to be on the same page, I don’t care what you’re doing, I don’t care how you do it.” However, Santana finds this duo dynamic enough to change people’s outlook toward the Commanders.
Adam Peters spent two decades climbing toward the position of General Manager of the Commanders. After Daniel Snyder’s ugly reign, Peters is set to jumpstart a new era. He played a prominent role in helping the San Francisco 49ers make it to the NFC Championship in four of the last five seasons. On the other hand, Dan Quinn led an Atlanta Falcons team to a Super Bowl. The two mighty minds have come together to bring some success to Washington.
As the duo is in an attempt to rebuild the team that finished at 4-13 in 2023 into a playoff contender, they need to make sure to get the right people on the roster to fit the team culture and locker room.
Pointing out the constant need to improve the team, Moss added, “They’re locked together some kind of way they so they’re stitched together, and it just seem like every move that they’ve made it’s just you can tell there just these guys working together as like little mad scientist man…“I can’t wait to see what they bring you know you know after the draft because once you get these guys from the draft you don’t know. You still have to go out there to develop these guys.”
In the past, Peters and Quinn talked about an “aligned vision” that they would share, a vision that would help the Commanders to become a more competitive team.

Adam Peters is calling the shots, but there’s a catch!
It was revealed by the Commanders, that Adam Peters has the final say about who the Commanders will draft in the coming event. Though Peters and Quinn share an aligned vision to drive the team to success, technically Peters will be the one to call the shots and he will listen to what Dan Quinn; the coaching and scouting staff has to say before he makes the final call.
Every step they choose now will make a difference in the franchise in the coming months. Since the Commanders have had a rough time over the years, they will look to build a good team this season. During the NFL Combine scouting, Peters mentioned they were under pressure to pick the right team. However, Quinn’s ideology revealed the Commanders’ plan and drafting process.

Quinn said, “It’s more about the play style and the vision of how to feature players into that play style… And so that’s one of the things that I love about coaching is finding unique traits that a player has and then how could we fit them into a system, into a structure, to make it happen.
