Alright, so Lamar Jackson just woke up on Tuesday morning and one of those classic internet head-scratchers. You know what I am talking about, right? Those cryptic posts. Vague enough to spark a million theories. But clear enough just to make you think something’s going on. His little puzzle into the Twitterverse has got us thinking about what’s going on in Jackson’s life. So, let’s pick our Sherlock Holmes lenses and dive in to decipher Jackson’s actual thoughts behind his latest cryptic post.

Without giving any proper context, Jackson, out of nowhere, dropped this post: “Accept my “NO” like you accept my “YES”. In this world we live in sometimes people don’t accept the word NO to well. #SETSTRUCTUREPEOPLE,” Translation: It could be anything. But my mind says it’s probably related to his contractual demands. What contract? Didn’t Jackson just sign a whopping 5-year, $260M extension two years ago? I mean, yeah, but it seems Jackson isn’t satisfied with his current deal. How did I know? Any guesses? Looking at his Twitter activity.

Just a few weeks ago, ML Football’s post on the Ravens QB grabbing some pizza went viral. Hmm! Jackson chewing on a slice of pizza—definitely interesting. But what’s the catch? Well, the caption of the post read, “Baltimore #Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is test-tasting Pizza while the rest of the world is stressing out about free agency.” Still, nothing cryptic about this post, right? Hold on! Here comes the kicker. Jackson himself suddenly responded to the post, saying, “This was Last yr….lol I’m waiting like everyone else.”

What’s he waiting for? Is it a contract? You know there’s a real possibility of it happening. Former Ravens editor Sarah Ellison apparently tweeted late in February, “Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said he’ll visit Lamar Jackson in Florida soon. The Athletic’s @jeffzrebiec believes Lamar’s contract will be discussed.” Coming off a season where Jackson was tipped to win his 3rd NFL-MVP title after leading the league in average yards per attempt (8.8), QBR of 119.6 and 6.6 average rushing yards. It wouldn’t be a total surprise if the Ravens reward him with an extension on his existing $260M deal.

Now, what if his cryptic tweet isn’t related to money? Then what? What’s the other theory? Well, if that’s the case. It could very well be about his latest foray into the entertainment world.

Jackson’s character, E-Tone, will guest star for only one episode in the fourth season. He will star next to Omar Epps and Joey Bada$$. This will be Jackson’s first major role on the big screen. Previously, he appeared in a small Gatorade commercial and NFL’s Pro Era II virtual reality game. So, seeing him slowly step into the entertainment domain. You can’t help but wonder if Jackson is really planning to do it full-time once his gridiron career is over. Well, it’s a question too soon.
