Is Aaron Rodgers right to call out teammates, or should he take more responsibility for the loss?

More drama surfaces from the New York Jets after the 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills. With Robert Saleh fired, Aaron Rodgers seems to have more control over the New York Jets’ circumstances. That was apparent when he started calling people out. The 4x MVP threw one interception throughout the game, but he knew how to justify it.

The optics of that justification don’t look good for the New York Jets. A-Rod found himself surrounded by the media, who inquired him about the loss at the MetLife Stadium. It’s Gang Green’s third loss in a row and looks like their QB is having a hard time dealing with all the apprehension.

Emmanuel Acho was quick to post Rodgers’ conversation with the media. His pass to Mike Williams led to an interception and the quarterback knew exactly what happened on the play. “There’s two verticals, Allen’s down the seam and Mike’s down the redline… so I’m throwing a no look to the redline. When I peak my eyes back there Mike’s running an ‘in-breaker’ … it’s gotta be down the redline.”

It happened when 1:52 remained in the last quarter and A-Rod lobbed a pass to Mike Williams which was intercepted by Taron Johnson. Mike Williams sustained a hit on the play and was down for a moment. But that interception happened because Williams fell, lost control, and could not catch the ball.

Aaron Rodgers looked like he was fuming. If it weren’t for that INT, the New York Jets could have easily been in a position to win the game that otherwise ended with a loss. Most fans in the comment section didn’t believe the Jets QB because he also called out the refs for roughing the passer penalty on him.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Aaron Rodgers right to call out teammates, or should he take more responsibility for the loss?

Have an interesting take?

While Rodgers has caused a divide in the Jets fans, the interception didn’t feel like it was his fault. The NYJ team has failed to capitalize on two game-winning drives in back-to-back games now and this time, Robert Saleh or Zach Wilson are not there to shoulder the blame.

Is Mike Williams going to be benched amidst this chaos post-Aaron Rodgers INT?

As mentioned earlier, this is the second time Mike Williams faltered on a game winning drive. This happened in the last game against the Vikings too, where the receiver ran a wrong route and the ball ended up in the hands of the Minnesota Vikings. However, the court of public opinion says that the last game was on Aaron Rodgers, but this one was not.

However, before benching Mike Williams, the Jets might want to check up on their special teams because Greg Zuerlin missed two potential field goals that might have made all the difference tonight. The weather was windy, but that applies to everyone else, not just Zuerlin. Rodgers threw a 52-yard Hail Mary that landed perfectly in the end zone. Clearly, the kickers might want to practice some more.

It would make no sense for the New York Jets to take drastic measures at this point because they just fired Saleh. Any further disturbance might just take away all the chances Jets have to make it to the playoffs.
