Did Aaron Rodgers' sudden change of heart contribute to Robert Saleh's shocking exit from the Jets?

The New York Jets have been on a rollercoaster since last year. But what happened on Tuesday has surely surprised the NFL world, and their locker room especially. Yes! After three-plus years with the franchise, the Jets abruptly fired head coach Robert Saleh. After his team registered a 2-3 score in the ongoing season. But Aaron Rodgers thinks it happened because of another main reason.

In a press conference on Thursday, October 10, Aaron Rodgers talked about the ongoing scene in the Jets and his thoughts about the situation. During the presser, the four-time MVP put all the blame on himself and the team. Sharing some heartfelt thoughts about accountability and seizing the moment. He emphasized, “When something like this happens, it’s a reset for everybody when you make a change on the offense. It’s a mirror that’s held up for all of us who played and we all feel terrible about the opportunity that we had, that we squandered, that led to Robert [Saleh] getting fired and [Nathaniel] Hackett getting demoted.

So, Rodgers took responsibility, saying if he and the offense had played better, things might have turned out differently. Hence, he believes its time for everyone to step up and play to the standard they set in training camp. Now this change of tone in Aaron Rodgers’ comments can be easily identified, as earlier the quarterback mentioned that he had nothing to do with this. But suddenly after the firing and demotion, A-Rod thinks it’s all the team’s fault, including himself. Strange!

Well, another strange thing happened when Aaron Rodgers informed the media that he already knew something was going to happen in the team. He said, “I knew there’d be changes after they let Robert go. Had conversations with Brick [Jeff Ulbrich] over the two days. I knew that he was thinking about it leaning toward it and I told him I’d back him up whatever he decided.” He realized that Ulbrich was considering making additional adjustments to the team. Hence, he told him that he would support him no matter what decision he made, showing his trust and willingness to stand behind the team’s leadership during this transitional period.

So, this means Rodgers already knew that something is going to happen in Hackett’s situation. But it seems the Jets aren’t over with strange and unexpected things.

Aaron Rodgers’ ex-HC Robert Saleh showed humility even after being fired?

It’s common for a coach who has been fired from a team to show frustration and resentment towards that team, or to ignore their future status. However, in Robert Saleh’s case, it’s not like that. Despite his abrupt firing, he didn’t lash out or show bitterness. Instead, the former Jets coach expressed belief in Aaron Rodgers’ team, the team which he left behind.

According to journalist Albert Breer, Saleh shared a message that was nothing short of uplifting. He said, “He [Robert Saleh] still believes in the group of players in that locker room. He still thinks… they’re going to the playoffs.” Yes! Even after losing his job, Saleh chose to act maturely and stay supportive, standing by his former team.
