Is Aaron Rodgers right to call out the Jets' O-line, or should he look in the mirror?

The New York Jets are now trailing 2-2 thanks to the Denver Broncos, who handed them their second defeat of the season in the fourth week game. If you’re upset as a fan, you can only imagine what must be going through Aaron Rodgers’ head as the star quarterback.

The NFL legend considered this one to be an “outlier” game, probably because he couldn’t believe the bad performance of the entire team, including himself. This is where accountability comes into play.

During the game, the New Yorkers had close to five false starts. Robert Saleh believes the team needs to dial down the cadence, but Rodgers had a completely different view on the situation. “That’s one way to do it. The other way is [to] hold them accountable,” the QB opined.

Before you consider him a hypocrite for blaming the offensive linemen for the loss, you may want to see what he said about himself. Aaron Rodgers had a humbling experience when he realized he didn’t have a spectacular game either. He went on to add, “I missed some throws. The weather sucked, but so did some of my throws. We had some chances, but way too many mental mistakes.”

The final score that allowed the Broncos to win was 10-9. Rodgers and the Jets were so close to winning, but the universe probably wanted them to learn from these mistakes.

The multiple-time Super Bowl champion considers cadence to be the Jets‘ ultimate “weapon“. So, it is understandable why he was disappointed in the OL after various false starts. But this isn’t the only place where the offensive line disappointed him.

The game was about to come to a close and there were less than 2 minutes left on the clock. Aaron Rodgers, with possession of the football, looked towards throwing it far up the field.

Unfortunately for him, the O-Line couldn’t pull through. Before Rodgers could make a quick decision and look for an opening, the defensive line rushed and sacked him, putting an end to any potential hopes for victory.

Things got even more serious when Rodgers limped his way to the sidelines to get checked while Denver gained possession of the pigskin after his fumble.

It’s safe to say that Aaron got lucky this time around because he was medically cleared to play only after a few stretches on the bench. If he wants the OL to be held accountable for the false starts, not getting their QB sacked is also something that the Jets should work more on.

Will Aaron Rodgers and the team learn from their mistakes? Or will they continue to repeat the same ones until they are out of the playoffs? Either way, we will keep you covered on your favorite teams.
