Former Green Bay Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers took to Instagram to congratulate Assistant Athletic Trainer Kurt Fielding. He shared a post by @pfats_com on his story and captioned it, “Congrats Kurt (Cuz) HOF”. Fielding is set to receive one of the highest honors in the sports world in the form of inclusion in the Hall of Fame from the highly regarded Wisconsin Athletic Trainers Association. WATA awarded this as a token of appreciation to Fielding in honor of his outstanding contribution and dedicated service to the cause of the profession.

His association with the Cheeseheads started in the year 1988, serving in the capacity of a seasonal intern, which he did for three years. And then, he stepped into his long-standing position of Assistant Athletic Trainer in 1991. Fielding has been a mainstay of the Packers’ medical staff since being hired. Moreover, he served in his position through the team’s recognition with NFL’s Athletic Training Staff of the Year accolades following the 1992 and 2011 seasons.
His tenure involved some of the most important times in Packers history, from three Super Bowl appearances—with victories in Super Bowls XXXI and XLV—adding to a storied legacy. Aside from his work with the Packers, Fielding was also a strong advocate for the profession. He was a member of the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society Executive Committee from 1997 to 2005, serving as the NFC Assistant Athletic Trainer.
As the WATA Awards Banquet in Oshkosh approaches on April 25, the spotlight will most certainly find Fielding in celebrating his mark on athletic training within Wisconsin and beyond. However, he’s not the only shining star in the franchise’s medical staff.
