Aaron Rodgers and offseason drama go together like peanut butter and jelly. Every year, there’s a new twist, a fresh set of rumors, and another round of “Will he? Won’t he?” Well, here we go again. The four-time MVP’s name has been swirling around the NFL rumor mill, with whispers linking him to the Giants, the Steelers, and just about every quarterback-needy team out there. One minute, it’s New York buzz. The next? Pittsburgh’s heating up.
But looks like the Steel City finally locked in a date with Rodgers. As per the NFL Spotlight host, Aril Meirov, the 41-year-old QB is at the Steelers’ facility today. Well, we don’t have any clue whether the Steelers are signing him or not. However, we can surely assume one conclusion: if A-Rod signs with Pittsburgh, he would face both of his former teams, the Jets and the Packers, in 2025.
As per Meirov, “The Jets game would be at MetLife Stadium, while the Packers game is set to be in Pittsburgh.” On top of that, the QB would also travel to Chicago to face the Bears. Yeah, a team he’s dominated throughout his career. But let’s not jump the gun just yet.

See, when the Jets signed him back in 2023 after the guy spent 18 seasons with the Packers, he was supposed to end the team’s Super Bowl drought that dates back to the 1968 season led by the QB, Joe Namath. Back to the reality—his first season with the Jets finished after four snaps into his debut due to a torn Achilles.
As for his second season, the QB and the Jets surely thought to flip the scripts. But nope, he finished the season with a disappointing 5-12. The result? Well, first, the franchise fired the HC Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas and then parted ways with the QB as well. And just like that, Rodgers became the latest victim of the Jets’ never-ending QB curse.
Fast forward to now, and his name was linked to three teams: the Vikings, the Steelers, and the Giants. And after the Vikings chose J.J. McCarthy over him, the Steelers and the Giants were hoping to get a reply for the QB. But nah, Rodgers stayed silent—until now. But why did he suddenly decide to visit Pittsburgh?
Well, see it this way: according to Mike Florio, Rodgers’ agent, David Dunn, wanted him to remain silent. “Rodgers’ agent, David Dunn, has been encouraging Rodgers to be patient. Patience can become leverage. Leverage can improve offers,” Florio reported. That means A-Rod was just waiting for a better offer. Huh!

And judging by how things are unfolding, it looks like the Steelers still have that offer on the table—one they’ve had since the start of free agency. So the big question—is Aaron Rodgers really going to sign with the Steelers?

Is Aaron Rodgers an answer to the Steelers’ QB drama?
Ever since the Jets parted ways with him, Rodgers has been waiting to find his new home where he could hang up his cleats. After weeks of exploring the free agency market, the QB finally answered the Steelers. On Friday, the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that “Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers visited the #Steelers facility today.” The kicker?
Well, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Rodgers may not sign with the Steelers on Friday. In fact, the QB is just meeting with the Steelers’ bosses: the owner, Art Rooney II, head coach, Mike Tomlin, and the general manager, Omar Khan. “Sources have cautioned a commitment from Rodgers may not come today. If at all. As he is just visiting with team owner Art Rooney II, coach Mike Tomlin and GM Omar Khan,” Dulac reported.

But we just can’t ignore the elephant in the room. Because let’s be real—the Steelers’ recent moves are suggesting a sweet deal is on the cards with A-Rod. For starters, they’ve already signed the veteran WR, DK Metcalf. And with George Pickens in the mix, Rodgers would get the kind of O-line he likes.

On top of that, the Giants are already looking to draft a QB in April. So yeah, the contract is not finalized yet, but it’s likely that we’re about to see Aaron Rodgers in black and gold.
