Super Bowl winner Aaron Rodgers is still enjoying his career. The quarterback’s peak was when he played for the Green Bay Packers. While winning matches for the team, he enjoyed riches and fame. But one thing worried his fans. His strained relationship with his father and younger brother. In 2017, his father, Ed, and brothers, Jordan and Luke, surprised fans by revealing they were not on talking terms with their boy. Amid claims that he (Aaron) stopped talking to family after he started dating Olivia Munn in 2014, his father didn’t want to discuss anything in the open. An award-winning writer has come up with a new theory.
Ian O’Connor, the author of “Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers,” Rodgers’s biography, disclosed some interesting facts during the Ross Tucker Podcast on the 21st of August. While talking about family matters, he said, “There are many reasons, a lot of which seem trivial to me. The family, the parents, blame Olivia Munn. Now, he hasn’t dated her for 7 years and the estrangement lives on, so I’m not sure how she is fully to blame for this.” Connor’s comments bring out both sides of the issue. He also revealed more.
The cracks in the family relations started appearing before the athlete and actress started dating. The award-winning writer delved deeper into the situation, saying, “He walked into that relationship in 2014, which is the start of estrangement and he did have feelings regarding his family. His family disagrees with these feelings and certainly, Ed and Darla, are very nice people. They don’t see it this way, but unfortunately, Aaron does. He’s driving this estrangement.” Aaron rarely talks about his family in public discussions. However, the bond by blood cannot be broken so easily. But it’s hard for the family to enjoy the success without talking to their son.

When Rodgers started distancing himself from his family in 2014, Ed had said then. “Fame can change things.” He was spot on! The Rodgers biographer also gave a similar reasoning (on the QB’s part), which broke the family bond: “He felt that family unit revolved too much around his fame, fortune, and success. I think Olivia notarized those thoughts. If you wanna blame her for that, then that’s fair. He has issues with his brothers. That does not seem like a big deal to me but to him, those are big deals.” We know A-rod can be stingy. And his memory is sharp. He remembers everything his rivals say. But fans would like him to have a dialogue with his siblings.

While Munn was blamed 7 years back as well for causing problems in the family, Rodgers often kept his family drama away from public life.

Aaron Rodgers denies Olivia Munn’s hand in family issues
On Boomer and Gio podcast, while A-Rod praised Connor’s research for the book, he clearly stated he didn’t tell him (Connor) to write the book. Connor did it on his own. Also, he said that while some stories in the books are true, some may be exaggerated over time, while a few stories may have become perspectively right. Is he trying to deny his ex-girlfriend’s involvement in family drama? Looks like that! He has never blamed her for any issues he has with his family. Over time, he has left this topic behind.

Rodgers isn’t much interested in the book. He said that he wasn’t sure he would read the book except the chapter on his grandfather. While the host Boomer Esiason tried to extract information from the athlete about his ex-girlfriend, the QB remained calm about the past situation. He must be thinking about the football season, which is only 2 weeks away.
It’s his second year at New York Jets. The QB has already touched 40. More than 50 years have passed since their last Lombardi Trophy win. Can he replicate Super Bowl XLV’s success? No one will be happier than Gang Green if that happens.
