Results aren’t changing, but everything elsewhere is going through a shuffle in Jets Nation. A season that was supposed to break their 13-year hiatus from playoffs is almost certain to reach 14. And now they are witnessing their players getting plucked by the leaders in the NFL. As the Chiefs sign kicker Spencer Shrader from their practice squads on Thursday.
Coming off an eye-opening defeat in Arizona, Shrader’s two field goals were the only points they managed to put on the scoreboard. This led to their special teams coach, Brant Boyer, brimming with praises for the 25-year-old, “I thought he handled it really well. Kid’s got a lot of talent. I think he handled it well doing what we asked him to do, and syncing up with those guys and doing a good job in the game, for sure.”
Well, the Jets were just too late to sign Shrader into their active roster. Instead, they just decided to promote him from their practice squads on Sunday. This turned out to be a costly error for the Jets as the Chiefs came in hot and snatched away Shrader from New York. It means Anders Carlson is all set to become the fourth Jets kicker this season.

You might be wondering why Shrader was available. The Jets didn’t sign him to the active roster for last week’s game; they elevated him from the PS and he reverted to the PS on Monday. #Jets

This cycle goes back to Greg Zuerlein, who kicked off the season. But his unfortunate injury on the non-kicking leg led to him getting placed on the injury reserves. So the Jets then threw their hat on Riley Patterson, who was signed to their active roster. However, the Jets decided to let him go and instead promoted Shrader against the Cardinals. As for the Chiefs, they have found their kicker to replace Harrison Butker after his knee injury on Tuesday.

And those aren’t the only problems the Jets are facing this season. Their latest loss to the Cardinals showed the lack of flair when it comes to turning games around.
Aaron Rodgers failing to live up to his hype in green and white

Just when the Jets thought Rodgers’ return could help them break their 13-year barren run to the playoffs. It couldn’t have gone worse for them, as the Jets find themselves 3-7 with little hope of making the playoffs. “There’s been a lot of emotions this year, for sure. A lot of different emotions. That’s a loaded answer. But it’s not the time or the place to get into that right now. But at some point. I’ll give you a better answer,” as per Rodgers post Cardinals’ defeat.

Although the Jets Nation would surely be waiting to hear those answers from their veteran QB, he isn’t anywhere near the player, who won four NFL MVPs. Aaron Rodgers managed to complete just one pass that went over 10 yards. And his longest pass completion only went for 15 yards, thanks to their RB Breece Hall. Even Rodgers’ 4.3 yards per play show his waning abilities on the offense. Even their interim coach, Jeff Ulbrich, accepted responsibility after recording 4 losses under his guidance, “We didn’t execute even close to our standard, and that falls on my shoulders 100 percent. I didn’t do good enough job of getting these guys ready.”
Now Ulbrich has more problems to deal with after losing their kicker to the reigning Super Bowl Champions. If they don’t start winning soon, the Jets can kiss their season goodbye once and for all.
