The New York Jets season has taken a turn due Aaron Rodgers’ injury. Their veteran quarterback has confirmed that he won’t return to play after his Achilles injury in Week 1. Despite his absence from games, fans were relieved when they heard good news as well.
This situation has been a focal point for media commentary. Notably, sports analyst Colin Cowherd has put forth his views about the Jets as a team. His critical views on the Jets’ management have gained considerable media traction, adding to the narrative of the team’s challenges, particularly in light of the loss of their key player, Rodgers, for the season.

Colin Cowherd scrutinized the plight of the New York Jets in his analysis on ‘The Herd.’ He particularly conducted his analysis through the lens of quarterbacks Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. He said, “You can’t save a poorly run franchise.” He pointed this out while discussing the challenges both quarterbacks faced in their efforts to revitalize the Jets.
He also pointed out the parallels in their careers. Colin recalled that each of the two QBs won a Super Bowl at 27 and transitioned to the Jets with hopes of transforming the franchise. Cowherd contrasted this situation with more successful teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, where Patrick Mahomes augmented an already well-managed team. He said, “Mahomes took an excellently run franchise and was icing on the cake.”
He also referenced the Denver Broncos, where John Elway propelled a solid team to new heights. Cowherd’s analysis culminated by saying, “So I look at the Jets and I’m like, it’s a cautionary tale. Green Bay’s well run, The Jets aren’t and as great as far of an Aaron are a quarterback can’t save a mess.” Not to mention, Rodgers won’t be returning this season, but fans are not as sad as they were before.
