Aaron Rodgers has played 18 NFL seasons and experienced several injuries over the years, including a bone fracture, an ACL tear, a broken collarbone, and many other knee injuries. But what makes this injury take a longer period for recovery than others for him?
The rehab for a torn Achilles is undoubtedly a difficult one, and it is because there is not just one but so many muscles to be worked together. Rodger said, “It’s not just the calf muscles and the tibia muscles and the foot muscles; it’s just everything I need to work as a unit.”
Unlike muscle tissue, tendons do not get a significant supply of blood. Blood delivers fluid and nutrients that are essential for healing. When less blood is delivered, the longer it takes for tissue to heal.
