Davante Adams’ time in Las Vegas is seemingly coming to an end. As the Raiders WR expressed his desire to get a trade deal out on Monday. With so many teams waiting to pounce on this opportunity to get their hands on the six-time Pro Bowler. Adams seems to have already decided on his next destination. As sources close to the Raiders say, he wishes to play for the Jets.
Well, there is a concrete reason for that, as the Raiders WR spent eight seasons playing in Green Bay alongside the four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. When asked about Adams’ possible move to the Jets, Rodgers expressed, “The grass is green where you water it. You put the time in, you put intention in, and you can make a special situation out of being anywhere.” Although Rodgers used idioms to express his desire to have a reunion with Davante, they had a truly special time together.

Whenever it comes to a QB completing his passes, it’s the wide receivers they look forward to most of the time. And Rodgers struck up a great partnership with Adams during their time in Green Bay. For the eight seasons they played together, A-Rod completed 615 passes for 7,517 yards. And to top it all off, 68 TD passes were made towards Adams by the ten-time Pro Bowler.
Speaking about the explosive QB-WR partnerships, they are placed fifth in NFL history for the 76 TDs they have combined together alongside playoffs. Even Adams enjoyed his best years playing under Rodgers when he posted 18 TD passes in 2020. Well, they didn’t stop there, as Adams left on a high as he racked up 1,553 receiving yards in 2021.
With them combining again in green and white, it would mean horror for opposition defenses. But for the Jets, it would be a huge boost considering the do-or-die season they are dealing with. However can they land him, beating other franchises who are equally excited to get their hands upon the Raiders WR?

Will the Jets manage to reunite Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams?
What’s your perspective on:
Could a Rodgers-Adams reunion at the Jets redefine their careers and shake up the NFL landscape?
Have an interesting take?
Although Adams has expressed his desire to play for the Jets, he remains open to joining other teams in the NFL. The Saints, Steelers, Ravens, Bills, Chiefs and Cowboys might be the closest competitors to the Jets in getting Adams’ signature. Among all the teams that have expressed their interest in Adams, the Chiefs could be frontrunners, considering Rashee Rice’s injury last week. Even their offense is not performing the way they would have hoped for, as Travis Kelce continues to underperform this season.
Elsewhere, there are the Saints, who have another teammate, Derek Carr, with whom Adams played at Fresno State. After a strong start to the season, the Saints may jump into the opportunity of adding Adams to their offense. However, the Raiders are most likely to ask for a second-round pick next year to get this deal out.

But considering the close relationship Rodgers has continued to maintain with Adams, they might have a better chance. “I don’t know how much I can say about it because of tampering, but I still have a close friendship with him. We spent time in the offseason together. He’s a great guy and a great player.” Will the Jets manage to get their hands on Rodgers’ former teammate amid the host of interest surrounding his signature? For now, we don’t have any confirmation, but as we progress through the weeks, there could be breaking news waiting for us.
