Is Aaron Rodgers truly 'washed,' or does he have a comeback left in him?

Aaron Rodgers might be hearing echoes of doubt from fans and critics alike. After all, it’s not every day that you see a veteran QB like A-Rod throw a costly pick-six. But that’s exactly what happened in London.

Branded “washed” by one reporter, Rodgers had this mistake returned 63 yards for a TD by LB Andrew Van Ginkel. Minnesota was already leading 3-0 when Van Ginkel’s pick-six extended that lead to 10-0. It was the LB’s second interception return for a TD, making him the only player to notch two pick-sixes this year.

But how did the Jets even get in this mess? It started with Vikings RB Ty Chandler losing control of a pitch that Quincy Williams scooped up like it was a gift-wrapped present. New York had a golden chance. Then came the hit on Sam Darnold (thanks, Chazz Surratt), a one-play cameo by Nick Mullens, and a 24-yard dart to Aaron Jones. So far, so good, right?

Entered Allen Lazard. The WR drops what should’ve been a simple catch (seriously, man?) and suddenly A-Rod’s staring down a blitz. Next thing you know, he’s tossing the ball right into Van Ginkel’s waiting hands, turning what could’ve been a momentum-shifting drive into a legit disaster.

Now, Rodgers is catching flak from all sides. Sure, he’s still capable of big stuff, but those missteps? Too much. Whatever the case, Aaron Rodgers will need to clean up these mistakes—because right now, Van Ginkel’s pick-six’s something people just can’t stop talking about.

Critics tear into Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers just got roasted, and the critics aren’t holding back. Reporter Rich Cimini came in hot, calling out the Jets’ ugly performance, saying, “Jets look terrible. Don’t even have a first down yet.” Cimini didn’t hesitate to throw some shade at A-Rod’s throw, likening it to something you’d expect from Sam Darnold “back in the day.” Harsh? Maybe. But he made it clear—the 40-year-old’s decision-making was off, and New York’s paying for it.

Have an interesting take?

Nick Faria echoed the frustration, pointing out an ongoing issue, “#Jets problems against the blitz continue.” It’s like a broken record for the NYJ team—every time a blitz comes, A-Rod looks hurried, and the offense crumbles. Faria’s words hit home because, well, the Jets can’t seem to solve this puzzle, can they?

Then there’s Patrick Dougherty, painting a visual with the ten-time Pro Bowl QB on the sideline, saying, “Rodgers is thousand-mile staring every time the camera finds him, which is like every five seconds.” Oof. That’s a cold look for a QB who’s usually dialed in.

These comments make Aaron Rodgers look rattled, lost in thought, and maybe—just maybe—doubting his own game. Guess the Super Bowl champ’s got a lot to prove.
