Is Aaron Rodgers the Jets' Michael Jordan, or can he still lead them to glory?

The New York Jets exited Week 10 with another loss. This time, they were defeated by the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday with a huge margin, 31-6. Bringing in familiar faces like Davante Adams and others, nothing suited well for quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his team, as they continue to slip almost every week.

This situation and the team’s struggle have led many to question the Jets’s playoff hopes. With just 3-7 in the NFL standings, is this the end of the Jets? According to analyst Colin Cowherd it might be!

During a recent podcast, after the Jets lost to the Cardinals, Cowherd made a comparison between Aaron Rodgers and Michael Jordan’s time with the Washington Wizards. He pointed out that, like MJ, Rodgers seems to be surrounded by familiar faces, but it’s not working.

Rodgers had a coach in Nathaniel Hackett and a teammate in Mike Williams. Just like MJ had Doug Collins and Charles Oakley in Washington. Despite having great moments and familiar faces, both seem past their prime. And as per the analyst, the Jets’ offense, under Rodgers, has an outdated feel. He pointed out that Rodgers “looks like an old man and that the Jets offense is an old man offense.”

In the game, Aaron Rodgers was able to complete just 22 of 35 attempts for 151 yards against the Cardinals. Not only that! This 151 yards is his lowest in the season. The 40-year-old “completed only one pass that traveled more than 10 yards in the air.” But that’s not where the story ends! As per ESPN’s record, “His 4.3 yards-per-attempt was his worst mark in any start with multiple pass attempts since 2019. It was the fourth-lowest of his career.

So, just as Michael Jordan’s career concluded with the Wizards after his return in 2001, Cowherd and others might feel that Rodgers’s time with the Jets could mark the end of his career, as he has now aged and his prime years seem behind him. Well, probably that’s the reason why he felt “tired!

But on the other hand, Jeff Ulbrich gave a contradictory statement. The Jets’ coach mentioned, “We did not lack energy” in the game. Two opinions! Well, if you have seen the game, you will believe that New York actually lacked enthusiasm and energy since the first half. Then why didn’t Ulbrich see that? Well, according to many fans and analysts, the reality is Ulbrich saw his team falling apart, and lacking energy. However, to keep the team intact in the locker room in this tough situation, it’s important for the coach to speak up about something positive.
