Is Aaron Rodgers the king of Hail Marys, or just lucky? What do you think?

Aaron Rodgers might have a lot on his mind right now. Rumors have been circulating that he got Robert Saleh fired, but the 4x MVP has denied the claims. Now, the team is playing under Jeff Ulbrich as the interim head coach, and there is more pressure than ever. Rodgers and Nathaniel Hackett must prove that the franchise is capable of change.

Since the start of the MNF game, the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills have been neck-and-neck. However, the Buffalo team took a comfortable lead, sitting at 20-10 with just a few seconds left in the second quarter. Then, Rodgers pulled off a miracle.

It’s unbelievable how the Jets’ quarterback threw a 52-yard Hail Mary to Allen Lazard. Safe to say, the crowd went crazy. There were many defenders around Lazard, but somehow, he managed to reel it in. However, the ball slipped out afterward. There was some confusion among the referees, as one ruled it a touchdown, while the other did not.

However, the refs later came to a unanimous decision that it was indeed a touchdown, and suddenly, the Jets were back in the game, trailing 20-17. It was like a buzzer-beater but on a much larger scale. This wasn’t a coincidence either—Rodgers has been learning how to do this since his time as Brett Favre’s understudy.

Kevin Seifert of ESPN recently did a story that dives deeper into how Rodgers’ Hail Mary prowess came into being. “You get good at it by practicing them,” Rodgers said over the summer. According to Seifert’s article, there have been 193 Hail Mary attempts since the 2009 season, and 16 of those passes resulted in touchdowns. Three of those touchdowns came from Aaron Rodgers. The quarterback shared how he honed his deep-passing skills.

Have an interesting take?

“I was always doing the Hail Mary reps in those years, and I got used to throwing it outside the pocket, or finding a spot to throw it inside the pocket, and kind of got used to what the throw felt like, height and distance wise,” Rodgers said.

The 4x MVP also mentioned how he’s always been “nerdy” about where the ball would land, taking wind and force into account. If anything, the throw has impressed some major sports superstars, and they didn’t fail to praise the miracle Rodgers just pulled off.

Aaron Rodgers receives praise from the champions

Who better to admire Rodgers’ skill than 3x Super Bowl-winning QB Patrick Mahomes? The back-to-back ring winner took to X and expressed, “Why is Aaron so good at that 😂😂😂.” Though the Kansas City Chiefs are on a bye week, Mahomes may still learn a thing or two by watching this veteran.

But the praises that Rodgers got weren’t just limited to the NFL universe. We know LeBron James is a huge football fan and it didn’t take him long to address the situation. He read what Patrick Mahomes had posted and commented on his post saying, Right!! It’s ridiculous! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.”

Coincidentally, just before Rodgers made the Hail Mary pass, the broadcast was showing highlights of his past Hail Marys, and moments later, he did it again! Déjà vu? Divine intervention? Or just sheer skill? You decide. There have been a few missed kicks in the game due to high winds, which makes it even more incredible to watch Rodgers deliver that pass with such accuracy. Perhaps it’s just the sheer skill of this Super Bowl champion, answering Patrick Mahomes’ question perfectly.
