Home/NFL

How much longer do we have to wait? The season is almost over, and there are just two big questions left for NFL fans. First, are the refs helping the Chiefs? And second, what’s going to happen with Aaron Rodgers? The Jets have their new head coach, Aaron Glenn, and just hired Darren Mougey as their new GM. The big mystery now is who’s going to be the QB. Will Woody Johnson give Rodgers another shot, or are they looking elsewhere? So many questions and nobody seems to have any answers.

The Jets held their introductory conference on Monday. Aaron Glenn officially took over as the new head coach. But all the media wanted to know was about Aaron Rodgers’ future. The reporters tried everything to get Glenn to spill something about Rodgers. They even asked, “What do you look for in a quarterback? What’s an Aaron Glenn quarterback?” But of course, they came up empty—just like the Jets’ season. Although, the 52-year-old did say that he’s looking for a ‘winner.’ Coach Glenn’s QB should have “mental and physical talents.” Other than that, he remained tight-lipped, saying, “You are not going to get me.”

So, can Aaron Rodgers be an Aaron Glenn QB? Looking at his last two seasons, it’s now highly debatable. Rodgers was once a winning QB, but now he seems to have lost his spark. When the Jets signed him, they were hoping for nothing less than a Super Bowl, but all they’ve gotten are disappointments. Not to mention the many times the team found itself in hot water, which concerned the veteran QB.

Glenn must have seen the headlines blaming Rodgers for Robert Saleh’s firing. On top of that, his close connections sometimes took priority over the team, earning him criticism. Not to mention his skipping medical checkups to hide injuries. None of these fit the image the new HC has painted for his ideal QB.

Aaron Rodgers’ future remains uncertain

All the Jets fans tired of Aaron Rodgers being the center of attention can breathe a sigh of relief. With coach Glenn now in charge, it seems like the script is flipping. The elephant in the room is still to be addressed, but Glenn has made it clear that this time around, it’s all about work. “To any player that’s here now, put your seatbelts on and get ready for the ride. Listen, there are going to be some challenges, but with challenges get opportunities. But here’s what I do know: We’re the freakin’ New York Jets. We’re built for this (stuff).”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Aaron Rodgers still the right fit for the Jets, or is it time to move on?

Have an interesting take?

Woah, Coach Glenn is in full ‘Pai Mei’ mode right now. When asked about Aaron Rodgers’ future, Coach Glenn said, “We’re still in evaluation mode. So if anybody else is going to ask that, I’m going to give you the same answer. So don’t waste your time.”

Rodgers has said multiple times that he wants to come back to the Jets. If he had pulled off a few more wins this season, maybe his future would be less uncertain. But right now, things aren’t looking too bright for him. Analysts are even suggesting there’s no way Glenn would kick off his head coaching career with Rodgers as the starting QB.

I’m just letting you know he ain’t going to start his career with that mess. It’s not going to happen. He’s not going to allow somebody to tell him what he’s doing,” said Keyshawn Johnson. When it rains, it pours. And it’s been raining terribly for Rodgers for the past two years. It looks like we may have to wait a little longer to figure out if the veteran QB is arriving or leaving on a jetplane.
