The New Orleans Saints have bolstered their backline for the next season. With the addition of defensive end Chase Young, the Saints GM has worked wonders. However, the former NFL punter turned analyst Pat McAfee is still focused on GM Mickey Loomis’ style of chewing a piece of gum!
Earlier this year, the General Manager of the Saints held a press conference, displaying his faith in the head coach Dennis Allen. While conducting the press conference, Loomis kept on chewing gum. And McAfee hilariously aimed at that recently!

“The guy who’s running that team is a barn animal chewing gum and eating food”, said McAfee about Loomis on the ‘Pat McAfee Show’. While McAfee and his co-hosts wanted to discuss the signing of the 24-year-old Young to the roster, they kept coming back to the topic of Loomis.
During his show, the 36-year-old McAfee also mimicked Loomis’ press conference from January 2024. “Buddy, you’re actually killing me, nobody wants to actually want to hear any of the words coming out of your mouth right now”, said McAfee about the presser from Loomis.

However, McAfee did bow his head for the accomplishments of the veteran’s 37 years in the NFL world. That also includes winning a Super Bowl against McAfee’s Indianapolis Colts in 2010.“He’s obviously done a lot of great things over a long time”, said McAfee referring to GM Loomis. Another thing that impressed McAfee is the agile and defensive powerhouse, Young.
Chase Young starts a new journey
After being drafted by the Washington Commanders in the 2020 NFL Draft. Young moved to the San Fransisco 49ers midway through the last season and ended up being an important member in their run toward the Super Bowl. He has now switched sides once again. But this time, the Pro Bowler is getting a huge bump in his 1-year deal with the Saints.

“I don’t think anyone of us expected this, congrats on getting a full one-year guaranteed deal”, said McAfee. He is referring to the $13 million contract that Young signed with the Saints with his full payment guaranteed! This is a step in the right direction for the budding footballer.
