New York City just got a serious dose of Niners energy. While most of the Red and Gold are thinking about who will fill the void left by Deebo Samuel‘s trade, some Niners stars decided to swap the end zone for the bright lights of Saturday Night Live. A little break hurts nobody. It was a long offseason, and the players need a break from the gridiron. So, while the front office is struggling to figure things out amid the offseason chaos, some players are enjoying a relaxing time. Like Aaron Rodgers, who is out of the country, a Niners trio led by Christian McCaffrey is in New York City.

Who are the players that hit 30 Rock last Saturday to catch SNL live alongside McCaffrey? Names that you would expect. George Kittle and Kyle Juszczyk. That’s right, this trio has been painting New York City red with the Niners vibe. TE George Kittle dropped pictures from their trip late Sunday night after having a great weekend. “12 hours in New York, it’s Saturday Night Live!!!” he captioned the post as he shared snippets from their trip.

The first picture featured the trio standing together as they posed in front of the SNL set. Safe to say their wide smiles were enough to make Niners fans smile after the Deebo Samuel news. Kittle’s post also included a breathtaking night view of the city, a selfie with former TE Greg Olsen, and more. Oh, and during their New York trip, the trio didn’t just catch SNL live. They also met former footballer turned comedian Shane Gillis and actor Tommy Pope.

You all know Shane as the guy behind the mic, making you laugh until your stomach hurts. But very few know that Gillis also took a shot at football during his college days – only to realize later that football wasn’t his forte.

Christian McCaffrey and teammates hit the offseason reset button

The Niners squad seems to be having a great time ever since their 2024 season ended early. A few days ago, George posted pictures from a trip to Disneyland with his wife, Claire. Kyle has been spending some time golfing after the grueling football season. As for Christian, the RB has been focused on recovering from his injuries, sharing rehab updates along with snippets of his snowy vacation. All in all, the Niners squad is taking time to reset and recharge for the next season.

Speaking of next season, there might also be an impending contract extension for Kyle Juszczyk. The 33-year-old will hit free agency next season. In an interview after the offseason, Kyle spoke about the contract situation, saying, “There’s a lot up in the air, who’s going to be here, who’s not, some contracts that need to be figured out. So, I’m aware of that. I just hope it doesn’t affect me.” Reporters at the NFL Combine tried to dig for some answers about Juszczyk’s future.

The Niners’ GM, John Lynch, who addressed the media on the same topic, didn’t reveal much except for, “We’ll see. We’re thinking of a lot of things right now. We’re trying to make everything work, and [there are] some tighter constraints than we’ve had in the past.RB Christian McCaffrey doesn’t have any extension talks on the table since he signed one last season. But, whether he can fully recover from his injuries and how he bounces back in the upcoming season will be crucial for the Niners’ offense. As for Kittle, he still has one year left on his contract.

For now, the trio is just enjoying their time in New York. So, Niner gang, sit back and enjoy an episode of SNL on your screens, if not live. For the offseason is long and filled with peril.
