The San Francisco 49ers fumbled another Super Bowl. Once again, the Niners faulted against the Kansas City Chiefs, this being their third Super Bowl loss in the last 11 years. But they shouldn’t fret as four teams have lost more Super Bowls than them!

Leading the table for most Super Bowl losses are the Patriots and the Broncos, with five each. While the Bills and the Vikings have 4 to their names. But the Patriots have played for more Super Bowl titles than anybody else.
The Patriots’ first participation and loss came in 1986 when they were defeated by the Chicago Bears 10-46. Their fifth and last loss was against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018 by 33-41. However, the very next year at their 11th Super Bowl, the Patriots won against the Los Angeles Rams by 13-3.
On the other hand, the Broncos have gone to only 8 Super Bowls. And they ended up losing for the first four times, beginning in 1978 to 1990. The Broncos recorded their first win against the Green Bay Packers at the 1998 Super Bowl. Their last loss came at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks in 2014, however, they won the Lombardi trophy in 2016 against the Carolina Panthers. But the Niners have a somewhat inverse trajectory?
The Niners have an awful track record
Just like the Broncos, the Niners have also gone to 8 Super Bowls. And they were one of the most successful franchises in the league at the big game. The Niners won their inaugural 5 Super Bowls from 1982 to 1995.

However, their luck has turned in the 21st century. Since they can’t manage to win the Super Bowl after gaining a lead in all three games. First one against the Baltimore Ravens in 2013 and then against the Chiefs in 2020 and 2024.
