We need you.” That’s what head coach Kyle Shanahan said on a phone call to Trent Williams this offseason when the offensive tackle was holding out. At that time, the 36-year-old made his commitment to the game while expressing his need for financial security.

With all said and done, Trent Williams returned to the field delivering his skills to the San Francisco 49ers. However, his ability to protect quarterback, high run-blocking grades, and pass protection met a roadblock when he injured his ankle Sunday during the Niners’s 3-point win over the Buccaneers. But the interesting part here is that – Williams never left the game and wasn’t even listed under IR immediately.

However, perhaps due to soreness settling in the next couple of days, the team finally named him under the injury reserve list. The franchise will welcome a divisional opponent, the Seattle Seahawks, at their home ground. And also, the team might not be completely prepared. In a recent press conference, coach Kyle Shanahan addressed Williams’s issue saying, “He’s been hurting all week. We thought he would be able to go today, but he couldn’t. Hopefully, he’ll be better tomorrow and good to go. But we’ll have all the way to kickoff for (a decision on) him.

So, till now, no confirmation on his return to the Seahawks’s game, which is scheduled for Sunday, November 17, has been made yet. But Trent Williams might not return to the game, as he has not fully recovered. Additionally, he has been a player who misses one or two matchups every season. This season too, it could be the Sunday one. Nevertheless, it’s anticipated that despite his absence, the 49ers will win this game against the Seahawks. The Hawks are arguably not good this season – sitting at the bottom with just 4 wins in 9 games.

Besides Trent Williams, other players are also questionable to return, such as Nick Bosa!

On a positive note, George Kittle, who was dealing with his hamstring injury, might return in the Seattle game. Although many are still doubting his comeback. As per 49ers’s beat writer, Jennifer Lee Chan, “During the early portion of #49ers practice, George Kittle returned.” This means he might come back on Sunday. Moreover, on the defensive line, the team will get a boost after seeing Yetur Gross-Matos return from his knee injury. Gross-Matos has been practicing since last Wednesday.

The 49ers will face the Seahawks at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.
