The San Francisco 49ers dealt a severe blow as Deebo Samuel suffered from an injury mid-game against the Packers. The teams are locking horns at Levi’s Stadium in the Divisional round. In the must-win game, the 49ers’ dependable weapon got injured in the first quarter itself.

Deebo Samuel concluded his regular season as one of his best. He recorded 7 TDs with 14.9 yards per catch. His importance increases many folds as the stakes are higher than ever in the playoffs. Adam Schefter shed light on the injury and updated his status on X initially.

On the 49ers’ opening drive, Samuel was tackled by the Packers LB Quay Walker. To make matters worse the Packers’ CB Jaire Alexander’s helmet impacted Samuel during the play. Samuel lay down on the field and was taken to the locker room for inspection. Adam Schefter posted, “49ers’ WR Deebo Samuel is being evaluated for a head injury and his return tonight is questionable.” This sounded like trouble for the 49ers.

However, after a few minutes, the good news came in and Adam Schefter posted a follow-up on X, “WR Deebo Samuel has been cleared to return.” The Packs are in the form of the season and have won four games on the trot before joining the teams in the post-season matches. They can’t afford to lose their main assets at the start of a highly crucial game with the brutal injury.

Samuel returned to the field after a check-up but didn’t join his team in the second quarter and watched the game from the sidelines. He looked visibly uncomfortable as he sat on the sidelines with his head down. He went again to the locker room after some time. NFL Rumors shared the update.

The post stated, “Deelo Samuel is questionable to return and heading for the locker room for 2nd time.” He returned to the field in the half time but was not wearing pads and gloves which could only mean that he is not ready to play in the second half.
