Erin Andrews has become a household name when it comes to sports broadcasting! And, even though she had to face multiple challenges along the way, her parents, Steven and Paula Stevens, have been her constant support system. Initiating her career back in 2004 with ESPN, she covered events for eight years, before she joined Fox Sports. And, Erin also shares a legacy with “Dancing With the Stars,” first as a contestant finishing 3rd in 2010, and later co-hosting it from 2014-2019.
Beyond such a strong legacy, her battle with cancer was no less excruciating. But, with her parents’ backing, she has learned to never give up in the face of adversity. Whether it is drawing love for sports from her father, or learning resilience from her mother, Erin is giving her best!

Steven Andrews, Erin’s father, is indeed a well-known personality. Establishing his distinct identity, he is a six-time Emmy-winning journalist, with decades of experience as an investigative reporter. Having worked mostly at WFLA-TV in Tampa, Florida, he has truly passed on his passion for journalism to Erin.
Even his friend and co-worker Gayle Sierens remarked regarding his abilities, “He was tough, but he was kind. As a journalist, you did not want to be on the wrong side of the law if Steven Andrews was around.” And, Erin has learned the skill very well.
But, not just her father, even her mother has played an elemental role in Erin’s upbringing. Having worked as a teacher, she built a yearning for knowledge in Erin. Mother to two daughters, Erin and Kendra, she has maintained a private profile. But, Erin never fails to cherish her mother.
On her birthday, September 24, 2022, Erin posted a throwback picture with Paula and Kendra, writing, “Love you so much. Happy Birthday, sorry I was so weird and scary in this.” In good times and bad, her mother has always been by her side.

Erin Andrews shares her NFL obsession with her father Steven
The ingrained passion for the NFL was not by chance, Erin learned it from her father, who harbors a deep interest in it. Bonding over football in the early days, Erin used to tag along with Steven to his workplace.
Talking about it, she adds, “My dad is my everything. My dad was the one who introduced me to sports.” And, from the time she was in school, sports broadcasting became her passion, as her classmates wrote in her yearbook, “See you on ESPN!” and “See you on TV!”

Her father was elemental in helping her battle the trauma of the stalking incident back in 2008, as she was filmed naked by the stalker, Michael David Barrett. When she called her parents, she recalls, “My dad thought I had been in a car accident because I was just screaming.”

Seemingly, her parents were her consistent support during the case, she adds, “My poor parents had to deal with that… My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer right after my trial, which, don’t tell me that’s not a coincidence.” However, she is ever thankful for their support, “That’s what great parents do. They take the weight, they take the brunt of it for their kid.”
Honoring her father, Erin distributed meals to about 100 healthcare workers at Tampa General Hospital, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world. Indeed, Erin has learnt the best from her dad, and is ever thankful for it!
