The Chargers have made it public that they need Jim Harbaugh to take charge. Under HC Brandon Staley, they gave their worst performance of the season. The 63-21 loss against the Raiders shocked the team management, and they had to take some steps. The firing of HC Brandon Staley was a long time coming as his stint with the Chargers ended mid-season after two years.

Fans wanted to change the setup as the team had only won five games this season and looked down and out from the playoff race. Giff Smith has stepped in for now and joined the practice sessions as the interim HC. For a long time solution, the Chargers have made it clear that the magician of college football, Jim Harbaugh, is their clear pick. However, Harbaugh has not broken his silence on the matter and the reason for the same is out in the open.

Renowned sports journalist Colin Cowherd broke the news surrounding the obvious choice for the Bolts. “Jim Harbaugh, He’s at the top of the list.” Even though he was certain that Harbaugh was not interested in leaving college football, he gave a diverse opinion. “My hunch is he would rather stay at Michigan but a lot of things will change.” He was hinting toward the NCAA’s recent charges regarding Harbaugh that can lead to him changing sides.

Pointing out the inevitable change, he worked down the NCAA efforts by calling them “Petty” as the NCAA has given a controversial verdict. Cowherd shed the light on the same, “The NCAA charging Harbaugh in Michigan with a level one violation for providing false and misleading investigators during the COVID season.” He mentioned that at the time of the pandemic, nobody was safe, including the government. It’s pretty clear Harbaugh is caught in the web of the NCAA and he may as well be looking for options.

He further downsized NCAA efforts’ and acknowledged that Harbaugh is going to be fine while adding, “If the NCAA comes down too harshly, too punitively, he will just leave.” If Harbaugh chooses the NFL, it will be good news for the Chargers indeed!
