Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson is opening eyes and making his NFL aspirations known at the NFL scouting combine. Not only has he put Baltimore Ravens quarterback and 2x NFL MVP Lamar Jackson on his sack list, but he also demonstrated he has the speed to do it.

One of those teams projected to target Chop Robinson will be the Ravens, ironically. Although Robinson is projected in most mock drafts to be off the board by the time the Ravens select at No. 30. He is a player the team could potentially trade up for. If he slides, he won’t get past the team he grew up watching.

Before his standout performance at the combine, Robinson made it clear that he’s got his sights set on joining his hometown team. Who wouldn’t want to play for their hometown heroes, right? But what really caught everyone’s attention was when Robinson revealed his top target for QB sacks: none other than the league’s MVP, Lamar Jackson.

Mike Florio shot a question at him, “Who’s the quarterback that you can’t wait to put on his a*s?” “I’m from Maryland,” Robinson said without hesitating. “Seeing Lamar all the time just running around, I want to sack Lamar Jackson because he’s the hardest quarterback to sack.”

But he’s also open to playing with Lamar. “I grew up a Ravens’ fan,” Robinson shared. “I’m not too far from Baltimore. The Ravens have always been in my blood.” With comparisons to Micah Parsons, another Penn State standout, Robinson is ready to make waves in the NFL with his speed and explosiveness.

Robinson wasted no time showcasing his talents at the combine, impressing scouts with a lightning-fast 40-yard dash time. Clocking in at 4.48 seconds, he proved he’s got the speed to rival some of the best edge rushers in the draft. He even recorded a split time of 1.54 seconds at the 10-yard mark, a testament to his agility and explosiveness.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing in at 254 pounds, Robinson’s performance underscored his athleticism and potential as a coveted prospect for teams eyeing the middle to late rounds of the NFL Draft. As the draft approaches and Robinson’s stock rises, the question remains: will he land with the Ravens, the team he’s always dreamed of playing for? We’ll just have to wait and see when the NFL Draft kicks off in Detroit on April 25th.
