Russell Wilson went to see March Madness at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. As he sat beside the Steelers‘ limited partner Thomas Tull, the quarterback had his utmost support for NC State. The Wolfpack ended up winning against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies to progress to Sweet 16.
Wilson, who didn’t give any credit to Wisconsin, chose to shout out the NC State Wolfpack after their insane win in the NCAA tournament. And why not, their connection indeed goes 16 years back.
Russ has a special place in his heart for his first school as opposed to the one he got drafted out of. The Super Bowl-winning athlete had his humble beginnings at NC State in 2008 and was a part of the pack for 3 seasons. In his tenure with the Wolfpack, Wilson amassed 8,545 yards, with 76 TD passes and 26 interceptions. After winning the Super Bowl in 2014, Wilson became the only NC State athlete to be bestowed with the Walter Payton MOY Award. Not only this but his jersey #16 was honored there.

As for Wilson himself, the busy season is coming up and he has a lot to prove in the coming time since the Steelers have signed him for ‘the leader’ in him. They might make their engagement permanent if Wilson gives a good performance in the upcoming season. Good to see that he is in good form, working out in his backyard and keeping the people guessing about his next move.
