The Super Bowl is always one of the greatest spectacles on television. But this year’s exciting overtime game broke all previous records. The Super Bowl game was watched by 122.4 million viewers, almost as much as the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969. However, the superstar Patrick Mahomes seems doubtful of that event.
Mahomes’ reluctance to the accept the legitimacy of the moon landing in 1969, reminds many of Dallas Mavericks’ point guard Kyrie Irving’s comments a few years ago. Does Mahomes also have the same beliefs as Irving?

Back in 2017, Irving had shared his doubts about the earth being a sphere, believing instead that it was flat. He also claimed that “It is not even a conspiracy theory”. And in the same regard, the Kansas City Chiefs QB Mahomes has raised questions about the moon landing by Neil Armstrong and Co. in 1969.
The 28-year-old made his presence felt on the Pat McAfee Show after winning the Super Bowl. When the host McAfee asked him, “So we believe we definitely went to the moon?”
“I’m like 50-50! We’ve been there I believe that we have. But there is some evidence out there that makes me at least think about it”, responded Mahomes. The studio went into a frenzy with Mahomes’ answer. But will the QB also face the same reactions as Irving did years ago?

For several years after his infamous interview, Irving was hounded by the media for his beliefs. And later the PG had to apologize to schoolteachers all over the country. He later claimed that the entire fiasco was a play to gain some attention. On the other hand, Mahomes has all the attention one could warrant!
The 3X Super Bowl winner’s views or at least the right to have his viewpoint was supported by McAfee. “Hey, you’re allowed to have an open mind! Don’t let anybody tell you anything different, you’re Patrick Mahomes!”
