LeBron James’ new podcast with JJ Redick focuses solely on basketball. It promises to be available without any distractions like controversial opinions or sensationalism. However, despite this intent, in the inaugural episode, Patrick Mahomes’ greatness stands as an exception.
James praised Mahomes and Stephen Curry as the players who “changed the whole narrative” of their respective sports arena. Sports analyst Chris Broussard believes the same as he emphasized the impact Mahomes has had on football.

In the latest episode of First Things First, Chris Broussard joined Nick Wright and Kevin Wildes to talk especially about the NFL and NBA, and the recent praise of LeBron James for Patrick Mahomes and Stephen Curry. Broussard emphasized on how Curry has changed basketball. He said, “I mean there’s no doubt about it now you know Steph changed the game we know stylistically I don’t know if he’s single I guess LeBron’s saying because Steph changed the game and now three-pointers are so prominent that’s why no lead is safe….”

Broussard continued talking about Mahomes, saying, “But with Mahomes, I mean 13 seconds isn’t safe, like in before that 13-second Drive no one ever would have thought you could win a game like that or come back in 13 seconds.” The analyst further explained that now with Mahomes leading the charge, even short time windows are seen as opportunities to score, reshaping the strategy and perception of time management in football.
LeBron also compared Curry’s impact on basketball to Mahomes’ influence in the NFL, suggesting that both can defy odds and make any lead seem vulnerable.

On one hand, Curry’s exceptional three-point shooting skills have enabled him to engineer remarkable comebacks in basketball games. Similarly, Mahomes has demonstrated his prowess in football by leading the Chiefs to historic comebacks, such as one against the Texans in 2020 playoff games, overturning a 24-point deficit.
