Jets’ Sauce Gardner Celebrates LeBron James 40K Milestone Despite LA Lakers Collapse to Denver Nuggets

LeBron James is at new heights with the record he just achieved in the NBA. He’s beaten legendary players like Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the late Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and even Michael Jordan. King James is all over the news after achieving this impressive feat though the Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets. The news also trickled down in the football world as word got to the Jets CB Sauce Gardner.

Gardner shared the news on his X account, and he seemed excited about the fact. In the past, James has also praised Sauce Gardner and Garrett Williams when he said, “Iron sharpens iron! Love to see it. These young kings are tough.” Now it’s the Jets CB’s turn to return the favor.

Gardner’s recent post on X is titled, “40K POINTSS LFG @KingJames” and it shows a picture of the forward along with the Jets’ CB and some other people in the frame. James is rocking the latest Deion Sanders sneakers, the Air Max Diamond Turf 3 in black and maize colorways, appearing to be in a conversation with them all and receiving looks of admiration from all around.

The post on X came after King James completed a milestone of achieving 40k points in his NBA career beating a lot of legendary players for the spot. This is his 21 season in the NBA and he is going as strong as ever. By the looks of it, LeBron James will not be stopping any time soon and when he does, he will be considered one of the legendary players to ever step foot on the court.

James now has 40k points in 1,475 games he has played. He has attempted 29,015 field goals in his career and made 14,662, which is a 50.5% conversion rate. In today’s game against the Nuggets, James dropped 26 points, had 4 rebounds, and 9 assists. The Lakers still lost 114-124 to the Nuggets.

This interaction between these athletes wasn’t the first one, and hopefully, it won’t be their last because LeBron James holds the Jets CB in high regard.

In 2022, the Jets Wide Receiver Garrett Wilson and the CB Sauce Gardner got individual honors from LeBron James. This was at the time when HBO was following the New York Jets around for the season of Hard Knocks. James saw the snippet of Gardner and Wilson practicing and gave them a shoutout.

“Iron sharpens Iron!!… Love to see it!! These two young kings… TOUGH!!”, wrote James on his Instagram story last year while he shared a practice video of these players. An impressive thing about the Jets’ WR and the CB is that Wilson won the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award and Gardner won the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award.
