We know that Mahomes is a part owner of the MLB franchise, Kansas City Royals. But has the poor performance of the Royals this season forced him to switch allegiance? The 2x SB Champion’s baseball team is in the second position from the bottom among all the MLB teams. So, is that why Patrick Mahomes was cheering for the Texas Rangers?

Another player and a close friend of Mahomes was spotted at Globe Life Field. Although he has no known connection to baseball, he was seen grooving to a song by his rumored beau from the VIP Box. While we still don’t know which team he was supporting, he seemed really happy to be at the stadium watching the Rangers defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks.

We know Mahomes doesn’t like losing. In the five years that he has been with the Chiefs, they have made it to the Super Bowl three times and won two of them. And because he loves everything Kansas City: he plays for Chiefs, and has stakes in Royals, KC Current, and Sporting KC, it came as a surprise when he tweeted a video of the winning home run by Adolis García. He captioned the video, “Wild!!!!!💪🏽 #WorldSeries”.

But Kansas City Royals fans need not panic. Their part-owner is still on their side, no matter how many matches they may lose. Growing up in Tyler, Texas, it was natural for Mahomes to have been exposed to the Rangers from a young age. What’s more his father, Pat Mahomes, even pitched for the team in 2001. Although he didn’t have a remarkable stint there, recording just a 5.70 ERA in 56 appearances on the season, he instilled a clear attachment for Texas in the junior Mahomes.

Although it had been reported that Mahomes would be at the stadium to watch the game in person, it didn’t happen. But there was no dearth of celebrities during Game 1 of the World Series. Former US President Bush threw the first ball and R&B Singer H.E.R. was also in attendance. However, more relevant to football fans was the presence of Mahomes’ best chum.

Travis Kelce makes surprise appearance at Globe Life Field

The Chiefs TE, Travis Kelce, was spotted at the stadium to make up for his friend’s absence. It came as a surprise since no one knows if Kelce has any connection to either the Rangers or the Diamondbacks. But, we’re not complaining. The 34-year-old also treated fans by dancing to the lyrics of his rumored girlfriend’s song, “Shake it Off”.

Speaking of Taylor Swift, we still don’t know if she will be at Empower Field to watch the Broncos vs Chiefs game on Sunday Night Live. The only away game that Swift has attended was at MetLife Stadium, where the Chiefs defeated the Jets. But it was convenient for her as she is a part-time NNYC resident and owns a swanky apartment there. Will she fly to Denver, though?
