In an unexpected turn of events, the San Francisco 49ers lost to the Baltimore Ravens, and it was a blowout. Just when we thought the Niners were infallible, Lamar Jackson and Co. demolished the San Francisco team. For this game, it was hard to decide a favorite from the get-go, but now, we know the Niners got some work cut out for them. In the same spirit, Tom Brady came to talk about the Niners loss on his podcast.
The 7x Super Bowl winner still trusts the Niners about their postseason games. He came to the “Let’s Go!” podcast and explained his perspective of the Niners ordeal to fans. The Niners sure have a place in the postseason games, but now they know who to keep an eye on.

The hosts spoke about how the Niners were on a roll despite a couple of losses and how the Ravens hurt their morale. He mentioned how bad omen follows the teams we get complacent about and asked Tom Brady for his take on the situation. Per Brady, this is normal and nothing out of the blue.
“Well, that’s part of the NFL season, too. There’s a playoff system; this isn’t college football,” said TB12, pointing out the uncertainty of the sport. “I mean, this is, teams we can tell who the good teams are, and the Niners are a really good team. So, if you throw a lot of interceptions and turn the ball over, you don’t give yourself a chance.”
Brady brought teams like the Cowboys and Dolphins into the conversation, saying there’s a good chance that these teams will make it to the postseason and mentioned how the case is similar for the Niners.
He dropped some more gems and added, “Teams have won the Super Bowl that was one seed, teams have won the Super Bowl that was six seed, so you got to get yourself in the postseason to give yourself a chance to win the Super Bowl and at the same time you want to be going in with a lot of momentum.”

Niners lose to the Ravens
As Brady mentioned, the Niners vs. the Ravens game was a nightmare for the home team. Brock Purdy throwing four picks is all everyone can talk about. Lamar Jackson didn’t miss a single shot against the Niners after they got the interceptions. Jackson could complete 23 out of 35 passes he threw for 252 yards. He managed to cover it up despite taking a foul so early in the game.

As for Purdy, his name is out of the MVP conversation. Not only did he get picked four times, but he also had a subpar game and got sacked twice. He came out with a dismal passer rating of 42.6. The numbers of these QBs would be nearly identical if Purdy hadn’t thrown those picks, and who knows, the Niners would have had a chance of winning the game.
Some people knew the game’s outcome early on, and for some, the day quickly turned to night. Another notable thing is that despite Purdy being dubbed a “system QB,” he couldn’t take advantage of the system or was able to cater to it in any capacity.
