Tom Brady recently joined the latest episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” and talked about his TB12 program, the upcoming FOX booth, along with Super Bowl LVIII and Brock Purdy. The legendary quarterback acknowledged Purdy’s excellent performance given the opportunity he received.

Brady said, “I think Brock’s done a great job with the opportunity he got it and he’s taken advantage of it. He was a late round pick. I know he’s got a chip on his shoulder and he wants to go out there and prove every day that he’s the right fit for that team.” Brady also expressed his admiration for the organization’s management, who once wanted him to take over the role of their quarterback.

However, as Purdy took over, he has shown impressive work on the field, and the 46-year-old legend is proud of him. Brady believes that Purdy has been growing and pushing himself every season.

How much Brock Purdy has improved himself?

Purdy was the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft, and hence is called “Mr. Irrelevant.” Furthermore, ever since his start with San Francisco, he has been under criticism, especially in this season. He even was reportedly called the less-capable quarterback than the other top four quarterbacks of the playoff teams this time. However, Purdy still made it, eliminating his rivals and winning back-to-back games in the playoffs. And the result is that Purdy has led his team to the Super Bowl after four years.

At the start of the 2023 season, doubts lingered about Purdy’s ability to throw the ball deep due to a previous elbow injury. However, after 13 games, the 49ers quarterback has not only recovered but has statically improved in accuracy compared to before the injury. Purdy, who underwent successful surgery and implemented new rehab techniques, expressed satisfaction with his current performance in pushing the ball downfield efficiently. His increased strength and familiarity with coach Kyle Shanahan’s system have contributed to this improvement.
