Is Anthony Richardson's self-benching a sign of weakness or a bold move for honesty?

After the Indianapolis Colts’ loss against the Houston Texans, the Colts stand at 2nd in the AFC South division following the Texans. This game made Indianapolis march towards 9th week with 4-4. Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson got sacked five times in the game. It resulted in replacing the starting QB position with the Colts’ MVP QB Joe Flacco. Jersey no. 5 Richardson has been benched after struggling to complete only 10 of 32 passes for 175 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

The Indianapolis Colts’ strategic update within the team and Anthony Richardson‘s move to step outside the game in the 3rd quarter stirred social media. Even the basketball legend Kevin Durant could not hold himself back from giving his verdict on X. On the question about subbed-out QB, Kevin Durant opined, “yeah, you can obviously be tired. but as the quarterback, though, as the main guy, it’s hard to do that.” KD continued saying “I know, why people are on him and I also understand he was tired. But I don’t think you can just come out of the game at that position like that”.
