“Once an Eagle, always an Eagle.” This is something any hardcore Eagles fan would resonate with. Drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1998, Jeremiah Trotter spent eight seasons with them. Known for his intense and bone-crushing tackles, he quickly established himself as a legend in the franchise and became a fan favorite. However, now his son, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. who grew up watching his dad, wants to follow in his footsteps as an LB. Recently, the father-son duo appeared on Take Off with John Clark and Trotter Sr. revealed something that he cannot withstand.

A standout linebacker at Clemson University, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. played 3 seasons under Dabo Swinney and had 2 forced fumbles, 87 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 2 interceptions in 2023. Yet, he garnered a lot of attention from the NFL scouts. On the show, the host posed a tough question to Trotter Sr., “What if he was drafted by the Cowboys or the Giants?” The Eagles’ former linebacker had a bone to pick with the colors white and blue, the Eagles’ arch-rivals.

However, the question was nothing new to the Eagles’ veteran LB. He said that he wouldn’t stop his son from joining the Cowboys or the Giants. Trotter Sr. said, “If he is drafted to the Cowboys, maybe that’s where God wanted him to go. I told him I can’t wear a jersey… I’m just going to have to wear a natural color. I’ll probably wear his college jersey. I can’t put on a Dallas jersey.”

Trotter has emotional reasons for not wearing a Cowboys jersey because he’s been a hardcore Eagles supporter for so long, rocking any other jersey is somewhat a blasphemous thought in his mind. He further added, “I feel maybe a little arrogant. I’m too important to the city, to the fans. If I were just a regular player to come through, but I feel like the relationship I have with the Eagles fan base, it would be too much betrayal. So, I couldn’t do it.”

Projected as a potential mid-round pick in the upcoming NFL, last month the Philadelphia Eagles wanted to meet the Clemson Tigers LB. And, as the Dallas Cowboys also seem to be interested in picking him, the renowned linebacker would still hope his son to be an Eagle.

The Eagles’ loyalty surely turns heads. This also reminds us of the time when Kylie Kelce couldn’t bring herself to don the Chiefs’ red and white colors at Super Bowl 58.

Kylie Kelce too is an Eagle through and through!

Whether out of love for her husband or out of loyalty for the Philly team, the wife of a retired Eagles center declined to suit up in a Chiefs jersey on the day of the Super Bowl. Instead, Jason Kelce’s wife wore a red University of Cincinnati jersey, the college that the Kelce brothers attended.

On his New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce said, “Kylie got some love from the Philadelphia fans for her continued refusal to wear Chiefs gear, even though she has personal connections… She just does not wanna do it.”
