Tight ends George Kittle and Travis Kelce have a tight bond between them. These two close friends, off the field, are connected once again on the field for the biggest showdown of the league. The San Francisco 49ers are set to battle against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII on February 11 at Allegiant Stadium.

Before this thrilling showdown, about 2 days ago, Kelce called Kittle, the king of the tight ends in the league. Furthermore, he highlighted his respect and pride for the 30-year-old. Recently, Kittle has come forward to share his views on Kelce, mentioning their friendship and rivalry, on and off the field.

At the Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night on Monday, George Kittle, the Niners tight end, received a question about his opinions when he was compared to Travis Kelce. To which Kittle replied, “Any time you’re compared to Travis Kelce, it’s a good thing. Travis is a guy who I watched since I was in college. When I ended up trading jerseys with him (after a game in 2018), I was kind of like, ‘This is one of the coolest games of my life.’ I’m a huge fan of Travis Kelce.

Kittle further continued, “The fact that I’ve become friends with him, peers with him, run ‘Tight End U’ with him, it’s been awesome. He’s someone I’ve looked up to. I’ve looked up to his game and watched so much of his film.

Well, Kelce is indeed a great player who, in this season, missed two games, but still managed to catch 93 passes for 984 yards.

George Kittle hosts his podcast Hidden Pearls Podcast with his family. In an episode from August last year, Travis Kelce also joined the show as a guest. They discussed various topics from football to charity work and emphasized the importance of mindfulness. Kittle and Kelce, despite playing for different teams, share a friendship spanning six NFL seasons. In the podcast, they reminisce about their first meeting and fondly recall a joint tight end vacation in Las Vegas. Kittle recalled that party wherein they “brought the party to the desert and made unforgettable memories by Vegas poolsides.

Furthermore, Kelce also mentioned that he, as a fan, has also viewed Kittle’s game tapes multiple times. Both Kittle and Kelce are integral to Tight End University, a program they co-founded about three years ago, with retired tight end Greg Olsen. The program focuses on collaborating learning for players in their position, covering film study, on-field activities, and sharing recovery and rehab best practices.
