The venue where Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, Brittany Mahomes, and Patrick Mahomes celebrated their New Year’s Eve is none other than “The American” atop Crown Center, at 200 E. 25th St. #400 in Kansas City. The “truly grand restaurant” showcases a distinctive arced ceiling that was also featured in the social media photographs from Kelce and Swift’s New Year celebration. The decades-old fine-dining destination offers glowing lights and a gorgeous view of Kansas City.

Established in 1974 on Valentine’s Day, the American has undergone renovations while preserving its essential characteristics. The 6,500 sq. foot space, designed by Warren Platner, boasts three-story-high windows, a rosette-covered ceiling, and white oak pillars. Brass accents contribute to the overall ambiance. It aims to harmonize the contrast between expansive spaces and the intricate details of food and tableware.

Currently, the restaurant is exclusively open for special events and private dining. It is also renowned for its menu, with prices ranging from $60 to $80. The official website of The American describes the Hallmark project as “a work of art in its own right,” a restaurant “on the forefront of the American cuisine revolution” where “true culinary artistry is a constant.”

The mastermind behind this place includes designers like Warren Platner and Milton Glase. It is the beauty of this venue that once in 2018 it was honored with the Design Icon Award. And now, the stars like Swift, Kelce, and Mahomes have spent their time here to celebrate the New Year bash.
