Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar and his former club Barcelona have a verbal agreement in place in order to bring the Brazilian back to the Camp Nou on a five-year contract.
The 27-year old, who spent four years at Barcelona, switched for the French giants in 2017 becoming the game’s most expensive transfer at €222m. Neymar has spent two seasons at Paris Saint-Germain winning the Ligue 1 twice, but he has not been able to produce a significant impact at the Parc des Princes.
The club have still not been able to create progress in the Champions League even after signing the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in recent seasons.

Neymar signed for Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for a mammoth €222m.
The Brazilian is desperate to return to his old club after his image has somewhat tarnished since departing from Spain. Not only has he missed important parts of the season due to injury problems, but also got into trouble with the board on several occasions due to bad conduct. Recently, he was also accused of “rape” by a Brazilian woman, which he strongly dismissed on social media.

Neymar is reportedly unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain and wishes to be playing “happily” on the field again. As a result, he is willing to accept a much lower offer from Barcelona which will almost be 50% less than what he is currently earning at Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian’s present contract makes him the second-highest-paid footballer in the world, behind former teammate Lionel Messi.

Neymar is set to return to Barcelona after he reportedly agreed a five-year deal with his former club.
However, Barcelona will pay him close to the €24m per season he used to earn at the club before. The player’s representatives are looking to restore his name among the best in the sport rather than focusing on the amount he makes.

The only hindrance between a potential transfer, however, is the transfer fee, which Neymar’s representatives are currently holding talks about with Barcelona. The verbal agreement is a huge step in the right direction but striking a deal is still going to be complicated.
