All’s not well in Pittsburgh. Their franchise, with a legacy of silverware, The Pittsburgh Steelers, are off to another poor start to their NFL campaign. For a fanbase, not used to being on the losing side of things, Steelers’ fans are losing patience with their long-time man in charge, Mike Tomlin.

Fans expressed their frustration with head coach Mike Tomlin as the Pittsburgh outfit was handed yet another crushing loss. This time it would hurt more, as it was at the hands of their state rivals, The Eagles.

A Sinking Ship?

The Steelers, 2-6, are currently at the bottom of their AFC North Division and 15th in the AFC. While Tomlin has not had a losing record in the league, his performance as head coach has now gone out of taste for fans. Being just good is not going to be enough for them as they wait to overcome their trophy drought.

The whole Pittsburgh coaching staff is in the line of fire as fans ask for the immediate firing of offensive coordinator Matt Canada.

The team has lost many marginal games this season, which shows that the team has potential.

Fans remain furious over a series of poor calls from their head coach.

The Steelers’ head coach is known for being a favorite amongst his players, current and old. However, there are other departments that Tomlin needs to address to regain the love of fans who have been loyal to him for 15 long years. He must be doing something wrong to come so close on so many occasions, only to not secure the bag.

The Mike Tomlin Legacy

Tomlin joined the Steelers in 2007 as their first-ever African American coach. In his 15 years in charge, he has done quite some wonders for the team. His greatest feat would definitely be the Super Bowl title in 2008, which also made him the youngest coach to ever win it at the time. This feat was only overcome in 2021 when the Rams won the Superbowl under Sean McVay.

The HC holds the record for not having a losing record in his 15 years. However, if Tomlin doesn’t change things around in their camp, that record might run out by the end of this year. It’ll be interesting to see if his players stick it out for him and deliver performances as the second half of the season approaches and the Steelers take on the Saints.
