The Russian Grand Prix was a memorable day for Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. The Knight achieved his hundredth win in Formula One after taking victory in an eventful Sochi race this past weekend.

According to managing director, Ross Brawn, Hamilton will win many races before he steps away from the world of racing and moves on to the other interests in his life.

As Hamilton crossed the line, he achieved a milestone in the sport that no one previously could. He now has a hundred wins in Formula One, more than every driver in the history of F1. However, it doesn’t seem like he is stopping any time soon, as Brawn feels he can win many more races.

In his blog post after the Russian GP, Brawn wrote, “It’s a milestone no one thought anyone would ever reach. Michael’s tally of 91 was so far ahead of what anyone else had ever done at that point that it never seemed conceivable that anyone would get near it. But then Lewis beat it – and now Lewis has 100 wins. There is nothing stopping him.

“Who knows where it’s going to end up? He’s with us for another couple of years at least – and he will win races every year. I don’t think we could predict 200 wins, but I think we could certainly predict 20 more as he’s still massively competitive and motivated. It’s just staggering and congratulations to him, as it’s a centenary that no one ever thought would be achieved,” he concluded.

After taking the victory in Sochi amidst a dramatic race, Hamilton is hoping to repeat the same in the upcoming Turkish Grand Prix. As it stands, Lewis has retaken the top spot in the title race against arch-rival, Max Verstappen.

However, the Mercedes driver is well aware that he will need to extend the 2-point gap that he has over the Dutch driver to further increase his chances of winning his eighth title.
