A new venue could possibly appear on the 2019 F1 calendar in the form of the Miami Grand Prix. It is designed as a street circuit, the fourth of its kind after Monaco, Singapore and Baku in the current calendar.
The organisers had already submitted a plan for the route it could follow but they have been denied permission to use a public space, called as ‘Parcel B’. So, they have decided to propose a new route.
According to the Miami Herald, the new one will avoid said ‘Parcel B’ and an arena belonging to American Airlines in the north and instead will pass through Bayfront Park to the south, as shown in the image.

The opposition for the use of ‘Parcel B’ came through one Audrey Edmonson, who is the country commissioner for District 3 of the Miami-Dade country. The new plan shall avoid it altogether.

But, F1 can take some solace from the fact that the City of Miami Commission had passed a resolution only last month to begin formal discussions to hold a round of the championship there
But they face another opposition from a different party. A group of residents have ordered the city to stop negotiations with F1 organisers because of the disruption which could cause them discomfort.

The advantages of getting F1 to USA will be immense. The country is represented in the sport by team Haas and rumours are also floating around of Michael Andretti, an American veteran, setting up his own team.
Miami can also benefit from the event as the race is expected to draw in crowds in the capacity of 200,000 which could lead to booking of almost 35,000 hotel rooms. The Miami Herald had even estimated an economic impact to the tune of almost $700 million, to the area where it will be held.
