A few predictions for NBA Rookie of the year award went in the way of Zion Williamson when the New Orleans Pelicans drafted him with the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. However, he is yet to make his debut in the NBA and it has been a while since he was spotted doing something significant with the Basketball in hand.
He last played in a preseason game in October where he injured his knee. Williamson then had to go through a surgery and is currently under rehabilitation.
Working on his fitness, the Pelicans have been taking good care of the teenager with attention to detail. The Pelicans are not only concentrating on the current Torn Meniscus but they are also looking to avoid future injuries.

Zion Williamson to begin contact drills-
Coming into the new year, Williamson is reported to be inching closer towards his debut. The Athletic reported that Williamson is expected to begin contract drills and get into practice in the coming weeks.
The Pelicans have also been taking care of Williamson’s diet to make him leaner bring him to a good shape.

Although there is no specific timeline on his injury, we can certainly be sure of seeing Zion play in the season, and it might not be more than a few weeks away.

The Pelicans would be expecting Zion to join the team and help them improve their record. They are currently second from bottom in the Western Conference with just 11 wins in 33 games. They have, however, showed signs of improving after four wins in the last four games, including big wins against Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets.

The Pelicans will face Los Angeles Lakers up next on Wednesday.
